Tulsa Area Mechanic?

Need a mechanic or shop in the Tulsa area who understands 3rd gens.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Well Doc, I finally got my poor old Firebird over to Performance Auto repair yesterday (why it took so long is a long story).

I was really impressed, especially with David, who has had a ton of third gens and really seems to know what he's talking about.

I feel good about this.

Thanks for the tip.

Also, I LOVED your build thread, but you just ... stopped. Whatever happened to your project?

Re: Tulsa Area Mechanic?

It's been a tough summer. Early this spring I got hit by the flooding in Skiatook and lost all my daily drivers. Had to buy something quick to get to and from work which drained what little budget I had to work with. Since then, I have been dealing with some health issues that have contributed to my inability to make any forward progress. The Z is safely tucked away in my shop on higher ground and didn't suffer the fate of my other vehicles. Unfortunately, my girlfriends 79 Vette was here at the time and got flooded to mid-windshield along with the rest. It was parked on the highest spot on my property and was flooded for the least amount of time (about 6 hours as near as I can guess). Since it doesn't have a computer, I can save it, but it will be another major restoration project... Looking at surgery in the next month or so and a 3 month recovery after that. Hoping for some more progress next spring...

I'm really sorry to hear that, brother. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Least you can do is let me come buy you lunch at The Tastee Freeze!

By the way, do you know a boy from Skiatook named Danny Hailey?

Re: Tulsa Area Mechanic?

I could do Tastee Freeze... They make a killer Cherry Limeade... a REAL one.... If you come up I'll give you the nickel tour of the Toy Shop. Three Camaro generations under construction in one place... Modified 67 base coupe, 69 Pro street, 72 Rally Sport, 73 Baldwin/ Motion clone, the 84 Z-28, and my brother is building a 79 "Bird...

The name doesn't ring a bell but that's not that surprising...
