Engine Rebuilder(s)

Can anyone in here recommend me a very good place to get my engine rebuild? I want to get an engine overhaul and replace my worn out parts with some forged parts. If anyone knows of a good place or can recommend a shop or person to rebuild an engine in Houston, Tx. Please respond with the name of the person or shop and phone number.
:hail: Thanks!!!!!:hail:

P.S.
The engine is a 305 TPI
and the car is auto....

Thanks Keith27

I am trying to find a place to get my car's engine rebuilt in the Houston area closer to my home. I would prefer the I-45s and 610 loop down to the I-45 and Beltway 8 area, or within the 610 loop. Thanks again for your reply, and if anyone else has had their engine rebuilt; could you please let me know if you had another engine installed or your engine rebuilt...... and which way is easier or better. Thanks everyone!

Hey 89 5.0,
If you are looking to keep the motor stock and affordable go to Precision Engine Builders (on 45 and 610 North). They do a good job and offer a full warranty on your work. I think for a 305 rebuild is like 1500 with a core.

If you got some money contact Madman Racing Co and he can build you a good motor for a little more. I recommend Mad Man. He is doing alot of work on my IROC.

Thanks for your reply!
What year is your IROC? What all are you getting done to your engine?
My car is an 89 Formula that came equipped originally with a 350TPI,:hail: but the previous owner burnt it out and replaced it with a 91 305TPI.. ..... I want to give the 305 a complete overhaul, but if the cost is going to be about the same as to swap in a 350 back in.... then i will swap the 350 back in.
Again, thanks for your reply.

Its an 85 that I am restoring. I got it from the original owner with 140k and all original . I just dumped 10k into over the past year.
The 305 TPI was yanked and replaced with an L98 from an 89 GTA, new 700R4, new front and rear suspension (all new PST bushings, LCA's, Panhard bar, Tokico shocks/struts, SLP 1 3/4 headers, random tech cat conv, and hooker catback, Baer 12" sport brakes, and restorted interior. I am getting it painted in about a week. Then it will be done.
