Central FL meets.

A couple years ago when my 83 was running and not burnt to a crisp we would have meets at the Hooters on 436/red bug. What happened to those meets and would anyone else be interested in starting them up again? I live in Sanford and I am open to about anything and I have noticed a lack of car meets in the area and even my Vega group sorta stoped and my Fiero club is like shooting my self in the leg because I am like the youngest guy there (24 is young but the next in line is like 40 something). So I need to know what people think and then decide where and when because I really miss car meets, beer, babes.

Id love to do a run or a meet. but I work week nights, and that usually squashes that. The best that i can do is Funday Sunday's at speedworld. the next one is may 6.

Re: Central FL meets.

I've attempted to do a late model car meet once a month at WH in Sanford. People I know like the idea, but it's hard getting people to commit even with advanced notice. I figured it was a decent location due to it being right by the 417.

I remember going to the Hooter on 436 for f-body meets, but that had to be close to 10 years ago.

Re: Central FL meets.

I use to go to the fuel ***** meet about 3 years ago and I met some cool people there but alot of dicks also. Does Dink still go there with his Mark VIII?I know he owns a shop in orlando and does custom fab work. WingHouse is Sanford is prime for the volusia and orange county because its about the same drive for both counties. I agree with the gas prices being so high it almost makes me wanna put my Monza back on the road. If I can't get something together then I might just drive to the volusia meets.

Re: Central FL meets.

They are a group that are about american muscle/sport cars and have been the focus of the illegal street racing scene in the orlando area several times. Alot of the members quallify for the "More money than Brains club" and have a severe superiority complex. They use to be real cool to hang out with like 4-5 years ago but they grew and incorporated alot of *** hats and douche's. But things might have changed because the last time I went to a meet was about 4 years ago and it was pretty bad.

Your right on point my man. Still known for the illegal street racing. It's not that bad at all though. I went out there a few weeks ago and there were some really cool people out there. I was quick to judge but when I actually joined in I wanted to kick myself. It's not as full as it used to be. *****s still directly across and what not. Would be nice to see some 3rd gens out there.

I believe I'm going to go out and embarass myself. I got my transmission issues sorted out in the 2000, so I think it would be a good day for some shakedown passes.

Re: Central FL meets.

Nice meeting you today Joe! Looks like the car wasn't running it's best today. I only saw two passes, the first one looked like you lifted early, and the second pass sounded like the car was breaking up.

Re: Central FL meets.

hey it was great meeting you to. I didnt know till we got up tp the line, that you could only run 14.99 or slower witha passenger. So i lefty off at half track, coasted thru at 15.03. After waiting 2 hrs for the sec pass,I staged to shallow and red lit, decided to save the bottle. We packed up and went to the tt bar. I really wanted to see that model t run tho. I was talking to him in the staging lane. 800rwp w a 200 shot. and no seat belt.

Re: Central FL meets.

I saw him make a pass, I don't think he had a clean run if my memory serves me right. All I know is it was too damn hot to be out there. I'm sunburnt like a ****.

I went once, never again. The prep was horrible, it felt like they poured oil on the track before we got there.
