New to Third gen and figured I'd say hey
So I sold my beloved 1994 ford f150 4x4 a couple of weeks ago and bought an 85 camaro IROC-Z which...so far...has been pretty much a disaster from the front end being worn out and almost falling apart to the non functional rear brakes and lights. Haha dunno what I've gotten myself into but hey...I love working on vehicles.
Anyways..I'm from Georgia and saw this website and saw the south east chapter and figured id join the site.

Welcome I know you made the right trade, its worth working on. There is lots of info on these pages if you don,t know just ask and someone will come up with an answer. You will just have to ignore some of the smart--- but you get that anywhere.

Yeh I got a close friend of mine that lives right up the road from me. He's pretty much the one that convenced me to buy a camaro in the first place because I love driving his firebird haha. He has a few firebirds, trans-am's, and camaros sitting in his yard so I've been picking off parts for the past 3 weeks.
Right now I need to rebuild my brakes, idler arm was shot and pretty much fell off, center link broke haha, power steering pump is shot, tranny cooling lines are shot, pretty much, I drove it home with all of that shot haha which ran me about ehh...102 miles lol. Dunno hoe I didn't die. Plus for some reason I've read that 84-85 camaros didn't have shoulder belts?... Is this true?

89.
as for your front end, do it right the first time. MOOG hard parts and energy suspinsion soft parts. DO NOT go with the PST kits you see on back of the mags. i bought one and had a tie rod drop out and i could tell a diff when i replaced the ball joints with MOOG units.
the front end had only been in for about 2½ years. the front end thats in my 83 T/A has been in since the mid 90s and is still tight as a drum with MOOG and ES parts.
be careful with that MAF on your 85 if its TPI, its a 1 year deal. a friend found out the hard way. he dropped his and it cost him $400!!

mine just has lap belts in the front and doesnt even have a place the shoulder belt would go.. and as far as the engine goes, i have an edelbrock performer intake going into an edelbrock 4 barrel 750cfm going into an open element Holley filter.
