Anyone going to the Fall Rod Run in Pigeon Forge Tennessee?
September 13, 14, and 15.
Betty and I will be going over Friday afternoon and staying one night. We both have to work Saturday and Sunday nights. We are staying at the Country Comfort Hotel on the Parkway which is on the eastern side of town. Post up if you are going to be in town and are interested in a Thirdgen meet.

Re: Fall Rod Run Pigeon Forge Tenn
We plan to be in PF about 3PM. We are staying a the Country Comfort Hotel on the 441 strip closer to the Gatlinburg side of town. We only have one night, so we will be coming back home on Saturday AM. We will be driving our 86WS6. It is bright blue with silver trim, and a silver hood bird. If you have never been to this event, it is zoo. The traffic is awful, and it can take several hours to go from one side of town to the other. Rather than spend our one night stuck in traffic, we plan to go straight to the hotel, park the car, and walk where we want to go. Stuck in traffic for hours makes for one P***ed off wife, and that's a no win for me. If anyone is in the area, and wants to have a mini-meet, that is cool. Give me a call, and we'll set it up. My cell is 828-399-9580. Betty & Charles

Re: Fall Rod Run Pigeon Forge Tenn
Sat in traffic on Saturday for 1.5 hours and the car started sounding weird with a few miles to go, called it a day and went home. That's what I get for not heading out until 11:45.

Re: Fall Rod Run Pigeon Forge Tenn
We got there at 1PM Friday. Traffic was heavy, but moving. We stopped at the outlet mall with the Big Dog store in it. Wife shopped while I walked around and got some good pics. I will post them first chance.
We eased on down to the motel about 4PM, parked the car out front, and walked to the Cracker Barrel for dinner about 5 PM. Spent the rest of the evening hanging around the motel.
We headed back to the house around 8:30 AM after breakfast, because we both had to work Saturday night. It was a fun little trip, just too short.
The old TA ran well as usual. I had just completed upgrading my stock HU to a Monsoon HU with CDX controls for a remote CD or cassette deck. I am going to use the CDX for a Sirus direct connection. The Monsoon HU is complatble with the Performance Sound amp and subwoofers. It sounds awesome, only had to turn the gain down some as there was way too much bass. I will be doing a build tread soon on this project.
Next year we will try to plan more time for the Rod Run. The two Quality Inns in town seem to be a good location to stay. We stayed at the Toni last year, and it seemed like a perfect spot. We may try to take both TA's over.
