Rubberducky, If im in boost itll take more than $20! Lmao. Thanks for the offer though.

If we try to set it up right after the first sunday of any given month I should be good cause I work the swap meet in sumter county every month.

Lol, you turbo cars get better mileage than I do.

I don't care when, as long as its not on the weekend I do a V8 swap.

How about sometime in November when it'll be cool out? I should have my floors and cage finally welded in by then and I'd really like to go to one of these meets before the year ends!

I'm up for a meet. Just not during the middle of my front end swap.

How about November 8th?

Well, I fixed my A/C today. I learned I need a belt tensioner.

Nov 8th works fine for me.

November 8th sounds good to me. Count me in now that the car is running well. Pulling like a freight train too.

Man I need to just talk you into slapping a turbo on yours. With the knowledge I have learned doing my swap and ecu, I could walk you through it and help you tune it.

How many oil leaks you got? I'm sure the turbo would help you drain the rest out, lol.

Lol, I can't get over how bad the 60*6 sounds though. I'd rather have a stupid high RPM V8.

But in all seriousness, I have a leak at the front seal, and I think the rear main. That and the inherent oil burning that these motors do.

Sounds much better with a turbo as a muffler, lol. Not even kidding either. Even with my short *** exhaust and muffler where the cat was its surprisingly tame at idle with a little bit of throat. Get on it and its a whole different story. You will see soon enough, whether I get videos up on my thread or we all meet up in November, lol.

I am still serious about getting that motor when you do get around to a swap though.

Hell I don't think mine burns any oil even coming up on 300,000 miles. Does have seeping here and there but its not bad at all.

Lol, I've heard Dave's and others turbo 6s, I just can't get into it.

I really wish I could stuff a Alfa V6 in here, would sound like a dream, or a Ferrari V12, or V8 lol.

Yeah man, motor is all yours whenever its out. Every gasket but the rear main and front oil seal are new.

Well, I only said better...not running well. My car has an oil leak and a coolant leak. Car started overheating and smoking yesterday.

While the performance of the turbo v6 is nice and well above stock...I have to agree with Rubbermaid. ..don't like how they sound.

Is anyone planning on attending the silver springs car show in October?

I bought my car 10+ years ago and one of the first things I did was get the a/c fixed. That lasted 1-3months(don't remember exactly how long, was too long ago) and it quit. Since I won't be doing the motor swap anytime soon, I have been thinking of fixing it again and then tinting my windows. Especially since I want to take my wife and daughter out to some car shows.

Well the majority of our cars had the upper mounted ac compressors right? Just be glad its not a 2.2L cavalier. I replaced an orfice, accumulator and compressor on one. The orfice and compressor were the worst, lol. There was almost no room to get the bolts off the compressor.

I'm not after that kind of power. I don't care for drag racing. I want something that spins high, makes good power, and sounds mean all the way.

Lol, V6 blew the lower coolant hose off the pump. Thermostat seized up and it built up too much pressure I guess. The horrendous unreliability of this V6 is another reason I want a SBC, and its not like I'm mean to it either. I just go from A to B and it just drops the ball all the time.

Oh Willie, think you could tune a V8 with a Megasquirt whenever I get around to the swap? I have no clue how to do anything of that nature lol.

Okay, okay, last thing. We need more activity in this thread, or am I the only one who has the laziest job ever?

What is your job exactly? I literally run, jump, duck, do aerobics, lift heavy crap for 10 hours a day 4 days a week selecting for Publix warehouse. My work is performance based so no time to get on here.

I dont see why not, the MS has a 350 tune on it factory if you go that route. Its not terribly hard to tune just a steep learning curve. I am still learning but I have picked up alot. Though I will admit the computer is doing most of the fuel tuning for me, I just come in behind it to smooth the fuel table out

The idea I have in my head is high RPM 327, T-56, 12 bolt/9" with 3.23s. I want to wind the thing up and have a high top speed. Eventually a turbo may be in the plan.

In all honesty, I'm wishing this thing was a European sports car, so that's my thinking behind my idea. The 3.5L twin turbo V8 out of a 98-02 Lotus Esprit would be so badass, or a classic Alfa V6.

The frame inside of my seat is messed up as well. I'm wanting to do a full black interior swap, but my roof leaks right now so its not worth it.

Will do. I'm trying to find a car with a mint black interior I can buy and swap interiors. But my roof leak is more important at the moment.

I have black leather in my AMG. Its nice for luxury cars, but for the Camaro I want cloth.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

Okay, you guys will think I'm nuts but I've been researching running a single plane crank in a SBC. Max stroke it about 2.5", combined with the 4" bore of a typical 350 SBC you'd have a max of a 4.2L or a min of a 2.4L V8 SBC. And it sounds wicked too, theoretically this would mean with cast components and a 2" stroke you could spin safely to 12k RPM. There's a huge thread on it on hybridZ.org.

Alternatively we could use my car as a guinea pig for a V12 swap.

Let's do something on a weekend during the day, I'd like to get some good photos of all the cars.

Photo's of the cars? Just don't do any close ups of mine, it's easily a 40 footer.

Not to worry, mine is too. You'd be surprised what doesn't show up in the photo.

If I can get my floors ordered and welded in by November 8th, I'll make that meet hopefully. Not sure If I'll be able to get much work done though because of the heat here.
