Another thing you could do to make it not so boring is swap your 700 for a T-5. Don't know what that 327 is putting out power wise but if the T-5 can handle it, it wouldn't cost much and would allow you to interact with the car more.

With all the stupid stuff the PO did to my car, there's always an adventure popping up here and there so it's never boring. Also I'm not in it for insane power, these cars are just too much fun to drive, and I have been a fan of them since I was little (the 80's).

Anyone interested in going to the Quaker Steak and Lube show thursday Oct. 30th? It's a Halloween car show hosted by Florida Camaro and Firebird Association. Clearwater 33762

This is my thought exactly CharcoalBud. The 327 "should" be pushing 300-350HP. But I dunno with the heads that are on it.

Lol, I had a old Datsun Z that was like that. I sold it to buy my Mercedes when the Camaro broke. Sometimes I wish I sold the Camaro for the Mercedes and not the Z.

I'd be in for that. My car "should" make it.

She runs and drives but I am going to give her a restore starting with a full Hotchkiss suspension replacement aside from that it will focus on keeping her numbers matching. Need to do a lot of research on how to maximize hp out of the stock 350 and the tpi, the motor will get a rebuild and modifications but block and heads will stay numbersmatching. I look forward to making some local third generation friends glad to have found this post.

glad to see someone keeping them all original. I wish mine would have been a little nicer when I got it.

check the sticky's there is a lot of info on modding the tpi

Lol, let me know what setup you have, and parts that died. I have 3 desktops, 5 disassembled laptops, and 2 boxes of random hardware.

2 working laptops(ones going under the seat in the camaro), the other I use all the time. 2 Dell desktop towers minus IDE hard drives, numerous non-working laptops, etc. I have a bunch of computer stuff, lol.

Unless you've got something similar to a Asus P67 Saberthooth lol.

My current build is:
Intel i5 2500K
32GBs Corsair Vengence
GTX 770 buying another next month
8800Ultra
Corsair H100
Corsair HX750
2x Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD in RAID 0.
3x AOC 24" displays

This system is a couple years old with upgrades here and there. If I had the money I'd just build an entirely new system.

And I swear to god if I see another cat near my computer I'm going to shoot it.

I found a board that will work for $60. I'm gonna do some testing later today to see if I can get this thing to work properly. Seems one of my PCIe slots is dying.

I plan to take my car to this guy, I've talked with him personally. He is always updating his website with new pictures of work he has done.

Lol, that's a shitton of money for a paint job. 3k is probably more what you're looking at. Less if you do the prep work yourself.

3k is cheap for a professional job.

Jroch, strip and repaint do you mean down to metal or just sand it and repaint? That Attitude custom Painting place has prices on their website for a sandand repaint. Just over 3k for their premium job.

Lucky ****. Still waiting on an answer for the 6.0....my wife's cousin loves third gen camaro.. he used to have one and was the one who told me about the 6.0....hoping he tells me something soon. He did tell me trans was for a 4x4 so that's no good but they also have a 5.3 there too if they don't want to split motor from trans.

5.3 isn't a bad choice either. The 6.0 doesn't make a whole bunch more power than the 5.3 anyway.

He probably wants the 6.0 over the 5.3 because of the 6.0's 4 inch bore, compared to the 5.3's 3.78 bore. 5.3 is pretty much a modern 305 with a taller stroke.

Nope, haven't even worked on it. I was sick Monday and ran out of time to get to it today. Sucks when you're doing a V6 to V8 swap by yourself.

That's what I thought too.

When my buddy from work gets back from Ohio picking up his 15 WRX we're going out to the track. I'm hoping for 13s, might need to borrow slicks.

Im down for pretty much anywhere. Though if we had a general location that was kinda in the middle of where most of us live that way we all wouldn't have a long drive. Like a central location to all of us, but if you have a place in mind Jim, feel free to share.

Peg leg LOL Going to have to bring an extra rear to the track in case the 10 bolt gives up.

I think stock 10 bolts have seen 12s or lower, I don't remember if fasteddie has the stock 10bolt or not. I know he did at one time.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

TurboTPI had 570 rwhp, stock 10 bolt, 3.23 gears... Only upgrade was an aluminum cover.... supposedly the higher (numerically) gears get weaker cuz of less contact area, so 3.42 would not be as strong as 3.23, etc...

I have a used set of stock 28 spline axles for cheap...
91 TPI MAP Plenum
Vette TPI valve covers

My neighbor may have his old 10 bolt from his 89 too... Not sure if 26 or 28 spines...

for $ale...

I upgraded my 10 bolt...
New Factory 10 28 spline axles
New Eaton True Track diff.
New Richmond 3.42 gears
Solid Spacer
Yukon Rebuild kit, ARP Cap Studs
Welded tubes, and braces ends for LPW Cover / Brace Kit...

Stuff for sale is usually supposed to be in the classified section for more traffic. Just sayin.

Yes we were, on power capability not sales. This is the regional board, not the classified boards. If you have items for sale, let us know you have an ad in the classifieds, or if you come out to the meet you can sale stuff. Not picking on you or singling you out, just trying to keep the regional boards from being cluttered.

Please keep sales posts in the classified boards, thank you.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

Right... I think my message was a little cluttered... only a few for sale items...
I'm not selling my upgraded 10 bolt, I was showing it off

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

Probably not Saturday...
I made it out to the Ft. DeSoto gathering about a year ago...
A few issues with my ride still...
Getting a new Astro A5 tranny, hopefully next week and getting the other "issues" fixed... I have tons of wiring to do over the Christmas holidays...
It will be road worthy after the new year, just not pretty... saving up for paint...

Didn't help that I just bought a new set of Trick Flow 175 23 heads and will now need new cam, rockers, etc... ?!!?!

Gotta work sat night, I'm short staffed, so I get to deal with it. At least I get paid by the hour.4 more OT hours for me! I guess that'll help pay for the brakes that I desperately need.
