See, that's what you get for moving to Texass. Just kidding bro, that sucks though. His insurance IS going to pay for the damage, right?

If they were smart, they wouldn't be drivin Fords, or especially imports!!!

Besides, import drivers are usually sittin so low in the seats, they can't see anything if they try to check their blind spot anyways!

Wow, lot of ignorance in this thread If I had a penny for every time some jackass in a beat up chevy truck almost ran me off the road I'd be a rich man.

And I hate to say it... but I've seen some pretty dumb people drivin 3rd gens too... but in all honesty, there are idiots driving all brands of cars... I mean, no one has even mentioned idiots driving Dodge products, but I've personally had more close calls with Dodge vans than with any other type of vehicle!

Called today, waiting for the insurance company to call me back.

Haven't tried to open to door. Figured I would do more damage. The cupholder and whatnot inside is cracked..suspensions "clunking".

I was wrong, it was a chevy C3500 that hit me..

Same concept, big truck little car, idiot driving the other vehicle.

Will keep ya'll advised

--UPDATE--

The other driver's insurance company accepted liability today (whew). I got my first estimate......$4500.00 provided nothing else major is wrong.

OUCH

Finger's crossed I don't have to show value, or it would be a total. :-(

You could buy a fender, a door, and repaint the whole car for less than that.

Thing is, that is a door ($1200 new btw, not that I'm getting a NEW door...) plus both hinges, a fender, a mirror, a cupholder (door pushed so hard it broke the cupholder on the inside), painting the hood and nose back through to the back bumper as well as up into the sail panel on that side plus the molding and decals...

That is also a dealer's price for all that work...

It is in the shop now. I should have new pictures in 8-10 days.

So I guess that means that they decided not to total it then? Whew! I guess thats the benifit of keeping your car in prestine condition eh?

It appears that the wheel survived with only rubber debris on it. It has not been checked yet, but neither has the suspension. I went and checked on it today, the inside of the door is painted but that's it. I will probably not see it until late next week at the earliest.

wait....was it your fault? Normally if you get rear-ended you aren't at fault... As long as it gets fixed who cares how much!

true true...but the guy didnt have insurance and he said that he wouldnt screw me over. Im just tryin to help him out. his car was majorly fubared! this like 80 volvo station wagon. what happened was the car in front of me stoped really fast for some reason and i was able to stop(Barley like 2in separation) and then i look in rear view!! see him coming fast!! hear his tires lock up!! and BAM...he hits me....i touched the car in front of me...but it was so minor it would buff out. with my car all that u see is my bumper is scratched, the sides push out a little cause of the clamps being warped, and it hangs about 1/2in lower than normal... now if thats not build GM tough i dont know what is!

Finally

After 39 days in the shop, it came home tonight.

It looks great. The hood and nose look amazing. The interior is missing 1 piece still, but that should be delivered next week.

DIal Up warning...this link takes you to the full size un-cropped version. You have been warned....

39 DAYS?! Did they rip the engine apart to make sure the pistons were still in there? It sure does look good though!!

I'm not 100% sure what they did the whole time, but she looks fantastic.

Nose, hood and most of the right side has new paint. RF wheel was fixed and got a new tire. Had them paint over the top and the back bumper cover while they were there. New nose, door, back bumper and both sail panel decals. The fender is new, they fixed the door.

The hood had too much paint on it for them to blend so they stripped the hood and the nose before repainting them.

I'm just very glad to have it back.

Chris

Took these this morning as the sun was coming up..

Looks great Chris!! They did a really good job. Took long enough for a body shop repair though. In the long run, I'm sure it was worth the wait.
