Slight engine makeover

Well, I went to install some 7/16 poly locks and stud girdles today because every few weeks I have to reset valve lash and I realized my black krinkle chevy valve covers will no longer fit because they are baffled. Had to change them and this is what I got. What do you guys think? The valve cover says, "Mikkelson Magic Racing Engines." That's the guy that built my engine and is also my best friend.

Thanks for the compliments guys...I agree with the industrial thing. I went cruising downtown tonight and stopped at WAB and popped the hood to show some kids the motor and they were like...WOAH!! Sweet...With the other valve covers people didn't get real excited.

Shiny valve covers = SERIOUS engine work. Especial with the high-schoolers or what not. Kinda like chrome fender flares, means the car has some serious suspension or what not

Looks really good man. You'll have to make another cameo out here in Maricopa Land

Yeah...those are the valve covers and breathers my buddy uses on his Super stock race car. He helped me put the stud girdles on my motor and then realized I couldn't use my black covers anymore so he gave me his stuff. It's brand new and was supposed to be for his race motor. He rebuilt his motor. Oh well, he gets them off ebay. I like them. I don't know about making another camaro in Maricopa but that's where I bought mine from originally. Paid 1K for the car with tpi and drove it home over the mountains to Prescott without overheating...

Runs real well I think...put stud girdles on cuz of having to keep adjusting valve lash. I had a hard time with the drivers side cover as the rockers were hitting the sides. After some cover adjusting, no more rubbing. Still trying to build my ford 9 inch but it's on hold cuz we(my buddy and I) are buildng an LT1 motor to sell in Pomona CA for the next swap meet. I will use the money from the sale to finish the rearend.
