VATS help

Ok so i have a 91 firebird formula with the antitheft system that uses that chip in the key to start. well i got in a very small fender bender and now my car wont start. I did a dianostic and it told me that my Vats control relay is bad. I have a small diagram that tells me that i connects directly to the ECM but i still cant find it. anyone that has ever worked with this or can help me find this and can offer some help will be great thanks

I can't help you on that one but I know Trickster can. He has all the schematics and can probably tell you how to fix it too. Give him a PM...

Follow the wire from B6, my son. Your salvation lies at the end of it's path.

10 bucks says it's under the driver's side of the dash somewhere. Not that it helps much. Apparently it's a dark blue wire.

Oh, and if you burn your own chips for the ECM, you can shut it off there too so you can at least drive the car.

ok well i have multiple diagrams showing me the electrical lines that run in an out of the ECM and the Vats control module. the thing is I cant find the vats control module. I dont really know what to llok for because I am new to this car repair stuff and I dont know what it would look like. All i know is that it has a blue wire coming out of it that connects it to the ECM. other then that I am lost.

I take it you found it already if not,

The relay for the starter cut off should be behind the plastic (kick panel i think its called) cover on the driver side. You will see a black tape that covers the bolts that hold the driver door to your car. Take that tape off and the relay should be right there.

Thats where it was at for my 89 camaro rs that came stock with a lo3. when i swiched to carb I took the ecm out and was not able to start the car after words so I traced the problem to that relay. I cut the small green and black wire I think(it's been like three years) and ran it to a swicth then a wire to a ground, and that is now my starter kill swicth

OK finally i got my bird running again. It turned out to be the small white wires that are in the ignition. One of them was cut and barely holding on. I reconnected it by sodering it together and boom instant life! Thanks for everyones help.
