Drove a 5th gen yesterday....pretty dang nice

One of my buddies picked up a level II 2010 ss last week. I havent really payed much attention to them just aside from the fact i cant really afford one, anyway he brought it by and wow!!!! My first impression was an overdone car that they are trying to bring back with a classic look and feel. Once i started poking around i was pretty amazed at some of the goodies it had.

I did have my reservations when it first came out just like when the challengers came out, I've always seen them from a distance and they look kinda cheap until you really start looking at em. The drive was something else though! Again my impression when he started it was neat a new car with a v8, its gonna feel like my old mans caddy. Nope no caddy feel this sucker was flat out fast and felt like a muscle car, needless to say i was pretty impressed and hopefully can win the lotto big enough one day to have one to (maybe a used one so i'm not eating the "new car" depreciation )

Thats pretty cool. Ive sat in a 6 speed 2010 SS and it was nice. I started it and gave it a few revs but it wasnt as loud as you would expect. They are really nice cars but for the money i'd rather buy a 01-02 SS or WS6. But like you said if the price comes down in the near future then it might be worth it.

Well, I will have to say that they are freakin nice cars. Sadly though, next year(or the next) I will be purchasing one and my 3rd gen will most likely get the boot. I rented an SS while I was in florida and that pretty much sealed the deal for me.

Here is a pic of the one I had in Florida over Christmas....

Sorry, it was the only one I had at the moment.

I like that red alot, ive been thinking of selling off all my goodies to get a down payment for a used one the local dealership just got. The only thing holding me back is i have sentimental ties to my k5 and its an awesome damn truck, my other issue is having a car payment.

I'm kind of lucky, only 17 and drove one like the first week that they were here in el paso!! it was a yellow SS, 6 speed. unfortunately had the dealership guy in with me, fortunately, he let me gun it a couple of times. it spun them so easily and easily over 100 on the freeway, I mean. no it was cool accelerating to the speed limit so fast
