Ok! When Is The Next Big Cruise?

How about going through HWY2. It goes through Angeles Crest on to Wrightwood and come out the 15fwy. We can start at the begining off of the 210fwy. Or cut to Perblossom(how ever you spell that word) to Palmdale and maybe to L.A County raceway.

Just throwing out suggestions!

I was just checking the map and looking at Hwy 74 Ortega Hwy, but I see there just was a cruise there earlier this year. Did a search and found www.pashnit.com (Sportbike site) click on California motorcycle roads, then scroll down to the SoCal section and you'll find tons of cruise roads. Lots of maps and speed trap location warnings. Lets pick one before the weather gets ugly.

Hwy 2 thru Wrightwood was what I was thinking next. I dont know when, however. Perhaps the weekend of the 20-21st or the 27-28th?

How about cruising down to San Diego to meet with the San Diego Club and go on a cruise somewhere down there.

I think that’s a great idea! If you guys are really interested I’ve got some connections in that area. I know the last cruise we went on down there was off the hizi! Let’s get a head count and put this **** together…

Could we try to avoid mountainous roads though? When I drove my TA on a hot day on the Ortega (74), the needle stuck around 240* which worried me quite a bit.

I had tons of fun on the last cruise! I like the SD idea. I've always passed by that sunrise highway. Lot of interesting roads in SD. I don't know the good sights though. It will be awhile before I can get a saturday off work.

I say we cruise down to the San Diego area. We can take the 405 to the 5, exit Palomar Airport Rd., head 7 miles east on Palomar Aport Rd., turn left on business Park Dr., and left on pointsettia Lane. There should be something for everyone on that cruise including elevation changes, dirt/unimproved roads, and a 1/4 strip at the end to flex the muscles

I vote HWY 2. Or a SD canyon cruise. I have no interest in flogging my car for yet another boring low-mid 15 second pass. When I have the new engine in-place then 1/4 mile passes can resume. If some of you want to drop out of the cruise or end it with the 1/4 mile strip that's fine with me. I'll find a back-roads canyon route home.

I really wanna go if you guys are gonna cruise down in SD area, sounds like a good idea to keep it away from mountainous roads with the heat we have been having lately. I dont really know a lot of good cruises out here, Highway patrol has been on the 8 our pretty far east lately, so I dont think we would like that too much. not that freeways are any fun anyways.

well if its down here you can probably count me in

I’ve been on a couple of cruises with these guys and boy let me tell you something. There’s a couple of a#@holes that like to keep a real lively pace. One of the guys has a red 86 and the other has a blue 85. The guy in the 86 is this fat Mexican clown with a chip on his shoulder big enough to land an airplane on and thinks he is gods gift to anything driven. The white boy in the 85 is rocks a **** (A.K.A. circa late 80’s early 90’s Kurt Cobain hairdo) and is equally unstable when provoked. Aside from these two we have great time and try to keep a safe pace. Hopefully nether one will show up.

I heard all it takes to mess with the fat Mexican's head and put him off his game is to rear end him with your Honda Civic.

Ok clowns! We do keep a safe pace when there is alot of cars on the cruise. We all are safe drivers and will stick around if someone breaks down. Some people like myself have AAA. This will come handy if someone needs it. Other people carry enough tools and spare parts if needed.

As for driving in the mountains, there is a safe pace we travel if some people are not use to driving in the mountains. Don't worry, you will be fine. Besides the background would make the pictures look cool.

Is the Torrance , SFV, IE, OC, SGV, SB, LA down for the cruise? If you are, state your name and city.

Well the SouthBay Torrance cruise was fun for me. And i will always been in for that. But i may have to sit out this next cruise cause it sounds like to many miles and to much abuse on the car.
If it turns out to be a nice CRUISE somewhere like the beaches in SD or something, i may be in. But speeding around the mountains isn't something i'm interested in. Hope to fine out soon the exact plan.

Last beach/mountain cruise we went on down PCH and through Ortega was basically all normal speed stuff... only for a brief moment did anyone 'play'.

demonchild-I meant San Diego *county* has alot of interesting roads... Downtown has alot of interesting bars. I might be in town on the 20th for a birthday party but probably not a cruise.
I'm not driving my car on dirt unless its a dry lake or we're going to dump a body.

87camarodan, where is a good flat land semi mountain cruise route we could take or a beach route or a combination of both. We need places to eat and places to park our cars. Hopfuly 30 cars will show up. By that time the price of gas should be under $1.80.

ummm im tryin to think of some good "flat land semi mountain areas," its kind of short but theres this place out here called Japatul its in between Alpine and Descanso, its kind of fun and has some nice scenery, if you all start out in Alpine and cruise out through Japatul Valley you end up in descanso and from there it heads out to Pine Valley and right there is sunrise highway, thats not really all that mountainy, theres elevation rise but none of it is like WHOOOSH omg im up in the clouds, or we could cruise through japatul to Pine Valley and go out east a little bit and hit 94 to get back out into civilization.

Ill ask some other people for some good cruises out here, but the 94 isnt such a bad idea heading out from this side of it, just as long as your not an illegal cuz we have to go past at least one border checkpoint, and I know a pretty nice area we can stop for pictures if you dont mind dirt.

places for 30 cars/ and there passengers to eat... hmmm
Theres a pretty good Chinese Buffet out here in El Cajon right in the parking lot for the mall, theres a shopping center in Alpine with a littel caesars, a carsl jr, a chinese pace, a rib place, and a taco shop thats pretty good. Theres not so much good places for cruising the beaches here because its pretty busy and hard to park, especially on weekends,

Ill look around and talk to people, and try to post later tonite

Cool! Just lets know and also we need a place to meet you. Somewhere off the 5fwy would be nice. Just remember no imports allowed. Just F-Bodies!

I think the best place to meet if were gonna hit some eastern cruise areas is at the parking garage at parkway plaza in el cajon.

Usually the top of the parking garage there is almost completely empty, so you really cant miss anybody, to get there you take 8 east from wherever you get it 5 or 15 and its just like 10-15 minutes probably before you get to Johnson exit, its right before the intersection with the 67, and its the exit after main street I believe, at the bottom of the offramp turn left and then take a right at that light, thats the parking lot to the mall and the big parking garage will be right in front of you to the left(11 oclock) just go up to the top of that.

Hopefully my camaro will be "driveable" by whenever is good for everybody else. Pretty much any weekend is good for me as long as I know in advance, and I dont really know where the best places to eat would be. Maybe ill take my camaro even if its still being weerd and somebody else could listen to the noise it makes, its really weerd and its makin me mad.

well... that seems like a good meeting place if nobody minds cruising out eastwards. im gonna look at some maps tonite and stuff and talk to people that do more driving than me, I should have some suggestions by then

well the 20th cant work for me, my sister is coming down from Pasadena to help out around the house so im like 100% stuck here for the 20th. but other than that I should be open,

as far as good cruising roads the only good one i can think of would be to start out at the mall and head out east and hit sunrise highway, that goes out to Julian, and then that comes back on 79 i believe, but most of my driving experience is limited to East County SD anyways, so if anybody else knows good areas further west that would be cool too.

If we hang around LA/Orange county, a good place to meet would be at the Sonic drive-in restaurant over off the 91 FWY on Lemon Street (in Anaheim). There's been a few car meets there that I've seen and of course, we get to order from our cars. They have at least 20 car stalls for dining and some tables. It would've been nice to see a brigade of 3rd gens crash the car party I saw one night there with mostly risers.

Hey guys, I was thinkin it would be an awesome start and initial meeting spot for the cruise would be at the early saturday morning (6-8am) donut shop car show in Fountian Valley at Adams/Magnolia, just 3 miles south of the 405. They're definately hurting for thirdgens. From there it's an easy jaunt back to the 405 or hop down to PCH and head south.

No. We've just changed it to hanging around at Sonic's and talking about cool places to cruise if our cars didn't overheat, or we could afford the gas...

Lon, that’s an absolutely phenomenal idea! What time should we meet you there on our way back from the cruise?
