My place was Broken into today

I come home this afternoon an notice my screen was off one of my windows, first I didn't come to think of it, I thought it was maybe the neighbors screen, And I looked at my window and it was mine, They stole around 60,000+ in jewelry in one jewelry box and left, that's all they stole. My neighbor seen the Man come out my door but did not come to think why would this guy be coming out my door. But atleast she and her son have a description of the Thief, and hopefully he is in jail right now being question, as I just got back from another 211 call waiting for them to search a vehicle, but there was no jewelry there but just one Ring that was not ours. This really sucks.. I can't believe that's the only thing they took I had my Lengenfelter tb sitting right next to it and they did not even touch it, led alone they did not even take the big jewelry box, It's just weird they knew exactly what they were after. Im glad Im moving out of here next month to a nice home where I will have an Alarm system. So keep your doors and windows locked at all times, it's that time of year. And stupid is should have had that stuff in a Bank in a safe box.

The person who stole the jewelry was possibly a black male as my neighbor seen someone suspicious at my door, along with her son, but just did not put 2 and 2 together that we were not home as Im home most of the time. Nobody I know or in our family would do a thing like this so that's out of the question. I believe since the jewelry box had a lil lock on it they figured they had the right one, and they heard my neighbor and her son just come up there stairs laughing and the burglar got scared thinking it was us. and Came over to the slider door and probably was ready to make a run for it if he heard a key in our door. Well, all I can do is hope they got the same person who stole from us and get every thing they can out of them, where did they put the jewelry and Gold Madillion from 1804 that they only made like 50. Irvine police and Investigation was working very hard for us last night, There was like 20 cop cars at the location of this other Robbery where they took us.

Ivan, Im moving to Tustin Ranch we bought a Condo over next to the Golf Course, just a few miles away from here.

They found him down Culver by the Albertson's Robbing a guy across the street with a plastic Gun, I was right there in the area At Jack In the Box having a Hamburger in my car and watching all the police chase the 3 guys. I then got home and 5 minutes later the response officer comes knocking on my door to go see the scene and check out some jewelry but it was not ours. I hope they are getting a search warrant and find every thing in there place. They have to find it before they make Bail. Im pretty sure it's the correct guy my neighbor is 90% that is him and another suspect she is a 100% she has seen him around this area very often, They also hit some other places in this area so they been pretty busy. I think we have learned our lesson and any thing really expensive is going in a Bank and the new place is going to have an alarm system.

Well, I doubt the average residential thief (or even a professional!) would even know what a TB is, let alone the value of a Lingenfelter. Burglars go for quick and easy, and a jewelry box is more often than not going to yield big $$$ for its relative size.

Sooo glad to hear they caught the guy... apparently, he wasn't too much of a professional. Let's just hope that you get everything back!

P.S. - I thought there wasn't any crime in Irvine??

You are right they probably had no idea what that big hunk of billet was, led alone the Super ram so good thing on that.

Yeah tell me I thought Irvine was nice and safe place to live, but not any more. And they wanted to raise the rent 40 bucks.. I will be happy to move out of here. I still love this area though it's nice.

I read in the newspaper that Mission Viejo is ranked the safest city in california last year. Lake Forest was #2. I did a quick search to make sure and all I found was mission viejo's website. http://ci.mission-viejo.ca.us/news/cityawards.html

I'm from lake forest, my girlfriend from mv. It's a big thing that the schools and real estate agents use.

"Be afraid. Be very afraid."

I have an Aunt who lives in Long Beach and she got car jacked right in the parking garage of the building she lives in. This was in spite of the security gate and all.

Long Beach

I live in North Long Beach and my house was broken into back in May of 2001. Luckily I have double dead bolts on all my doors so they had to take everything out the front window that they came in through. I'm also lucky that I don't have $60,000 worth of stuff in my entire house. But I have lived here for 17 years and that was the first problem I have had. Branden's experience just goes to show this kind of thing can happen anywhere. -Bruce

Holy craps! 60K dollars worth of jewelry? Dang, I hope you're able to get all that stuff back. A real bad move keeping something worth that much out in the open especially in a "jewelry" box. LOL! Some people (crackheads/drug addicts/nutcases) will even kill you for $10 dollars.

I betcha the guy/s that robbed you would've had a real good time "smokin' up" the proceeds from that robbery. I hope the cops can find the jewelry. You did have the jewelry insured right?

Oh well, at least they didn't take the SR and the throttle body. You can mess with a man's jewelry, furniture and even electronic equipment, but you don't ever mess with a man's 3rd gen parts.

Thanks every one..

No the jewelry was not insured =( I had told my fiance before a few times we needed to put it in a safe box at the bank. She is so busy working Bless her heart, we never have time to do important things like that. And she liked to keep it with her so she can touch it and play with it like Girls do.

Still they have not called us and found the jewelry, I need to find some appraisals pictures of them and take them to the police dept. The medallion they say if it comes up any where it will be the most identifiable piece. We need to contact them tonight and see what's the update.

I woke up this morning thinking about this right off the Bat.. This guy and his buddies are going to be spending some years in prison for this and the other things they done also, but that still is not enough for me, I want the jewelry back, I know it has a lot of sentimental value to my fiance.

Yesterday my neighbor that identified the suspect that came into my place and stole the jewelry, was Subpoena to go to court in Dec. and also her son also. She Got all mad threw a fit b/c she says she has some other court dates those same days. Then today I get a Subpoena for my fiance to go to court also and I show her the letter and her son was there and she says He didn't get a good look at the guy as he was watching his kids walking along the stairs and sidewalk, But the night of the burgarly she talked to her son and he said he had a good look at the guy several times as the suspect was turning back looking at him walking down the sidewalk.

You just can't play something half way in these matters. She identified the suspect that night at another location and they arrested him and his buddies. The Da is going to be pissed and put a warrant out for her arrest I bet. They clearly state and go over forms before she identifies the suspect, and after they go over all this paper work etc. But No she didn't think she would have to go to court and now she is all upset and scared.

And what get's me the most they just let the guy walk on by after he looked suspicious and not even call the police, but hours later, by the time I get home and find out I knock on her door and ask her did she see any one enter my place and she is like oh my G*d I did see someone there and made out his description. As were starting to call the police. So now in this matter there is a possibility were not going to ever see the jewelry again, they released his buddies already and she is not going to testify the truth so there is probably going to be No Justice in this matter, that really pisses me off if that happens. Case closed im pissed!

yeah, geting stuff stolen and haveing witnesses back down sucks.

I agree. The SR and 58mm TB are only valuable to those who know what they are [for].

Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear that you've got spineless, gutless neighbors Branden. If people don't stand up to thieves, they deserve whatever happens to them. It is a real shame that you have to suffer for their gutlessness.

Thanks you guys, you are exactly right.. It was a good part that they did not have any interest in the Sr and tb, led alone any other items in my place. The Neighbor part well you are exactly right, if we don't stand up and fight it will just continue to go on and on and our streets will not be safe. And how would she he feel if they were Victims of burglary, yeah she can say oh im so sorry about your things but if it were them they be wanting Justice and there items returned and a witness with the strength to say the truth for the safety of the people. I'll be there in court to stand up and speak the truth what happened, But It be real wrong If that was the wrong suspect. And was punished for this crime that he may not have done, Just b/c a person felt like being a star witness and get the power to arrest a person for possibly for a crime they might not have done. And the witness not even show.
