CA Speedway Racing Weekend

The weekend of March 20th to the 21st, CA Speedway will host Autocrossing and Drag Racing (Saturday only). Yes James, this time we will be at the autocross event. Anyone else want to try out auto-Xing? It is loads of fun. This will be a competition, practice is usually on saturdays but gets filled quick (limited entries allowed). On sunday there is no limit, although for either day if you plan to run, you must plan to work as well. Regardless if you are competing or not. We will be in ESP (E-Street Prepared).

We will also be out at California Dragway the day before, for more practice runs and ... cough ... advertising our sponsor. Hoping to better our 12.74 run, maybe with a 12.6X on a 1.699 (or better) 60'.

Hopefully we'll see you both days. I plan on racing the IROC on Saturday at the Dragway and then maybe take either the SS or even the RS to the auto cross

Wow what a guy, he plans to take us all out after the races for being the slowest one at the track, that is really sweet

We'll see you two out there (and anyone else that you bring). We'll have our EZ-up and banner on display.

Oh, and thanks for the dinner offer Rusty (are we included in the dinner offer, we do have a 3rd gen?). Carl's or Dell Taco would work just fine.

You'll be seeing us "there", you mean.

And, lets not fight amongst ourselves here. The real enemy is the imports, then the mustangs, then the fourth genners.

I'll be inside the main Speedway (Calif Spwy) on Sat. for HSR West.

10:00am, 1:00pm, & 3:30pm are the Big Bore production cars (Group 4) practice, and 2 qualifing sessions on saturday.

If you have never seen a Vintage or histoical racing event in person, you have no idea what you are missing. Its lifes little secret- there are more drivers walking around the event then there are spectators. Unlimited access to the entire infield and pits, including the pit row upper level resricted seating areas. And you will see million dollar cars out there running0- cars you though you would only see in museums.

Not fighting, just squabbling

But if we have a 3rd and 4th gen what does that make us Benedict Arnolds?

Not to mention that a victory over an import is boring, a mustang expected and a 4th gen only cool if you know the guy knows how to drive. But now competeing with members of the f-body crowd is always fun! Even if you are graced with a full tail light pass courtesy of Jerry M

Well the IROC is still faster than the SS. I ran three 13.5s @ California Dragway on Saturday. The best was a 13.522 @ 100.47 on a 2.000 60'. The other two times were a 13.533 and a 13.543 my MPH picked up to a 101.74 by the end but my 60' got worse. Basically my IROC is a high 12s car in the hands of 13 second driver , but I am working on it

Tealman92 aka Rusty ran a best of 14.3 with his newly put together GTA, he still has some more performance parts to put on so I am sure he'll be down in the 13s soon.
