I just herd from someone that the 1989 GTA beat the 1989 ZR1 all around in 89' Is this true?

for some reason id doubt it would in a stright line, having 100 more hp and trq never hurts.

There's no such thing as an '89 ZR1. They were built in 1990 to 1995 model year.

That is correct.

My neighbor has the ZR1 that has the overhead cam 405hp motor. That thing sounded awesome the very fews times I saw it on the road. He keeps it in the garage most of the time and just recently started on a road course Porsche.

A TTA should spank a LT1 vette no problem. Handling wise, I'm not sure who'd come out on top.

With the TTA's lighter front end due to the v6 it may handle almost as good as the vette.

I know that the first year the Fiero was introduced it actually did better in the twisties than a Vette of the same year. Still couldn't overcome the power advantage the vette had though.

Wasnt the Zr1's engien developed by lotus? Dual overhead cam LT5

89 GTA were pretty heavy too, I think the heaviest out of all the the same year thirdgens.

Not all ZR1s. I think it was the ones in 94-95. My neighbor's one has the 32 valve Lotus engine in it. It produces 405hp stock. VERY nice

95.5 models got hand ported heads! Many produced more than the 405hp that they were rated for.
