Well another trans down the tube.. Im not planning to even put in another auto.. So this is going to be a long upgrade again.. I was just planning to start finishing the fuel system
So seems every time I get the car back on the road, then barely use it if that.. It's down again.. This is not practical..

how in the hell do you keep braking things?? i dont get it... you either have the worst car luck in the world.. or you are abusing the hell out of these things...
so no auto.. then the only 2 things left are to "Flintstone" it.. or go manual.. and i beleive the only manual that will handle your output is the T56... and if you want a T56, i have one in Dons shop that needs a rebuild.. if you want to work out a deal, we can..

Yep, sorry to hear about your transmission. If I remember correctly that one was built for performance.

The transmission has already had some wear.. I bought it used as a well built transmission.. Something has gone wrong with the transmission yes.. It can be fixed.. But I'm probably not going to fix the transmission..Originally posted by KiLLJ0Y

Actually I have not even drove the car much at all.. And actually I have not abused the car at all.. It could be when you buy a used well built transmission.. That has already had a couple Nos Passes with it.. And then put it in a streetable vehicle and drive a few miles.. It's probably worn some.. Now let's build a car that is putting 442 ft lbs of tq on the asphalt it wears.. It was just bound to come I guess.. Im kinda Bummed but wth it's nothing new so.. I'll have to wait and see where things go in a better direction this time..

haha Yeah I know.. the 383 is cool.. The exhaust is a bit strong for me I was in plan adding the additional bullet style..I probably won't be able to get the car back on the street again for a while..

Yeah Allen it was.. It could have some minor internal problem or a valve body problem.. Im going to check the basics and that's all I have in plan.. I have 1st and reverse.. I drove it to the store the other morning and once I pulled out on the street it just would not hit 2nd so I coasted to the light and I said good thing im just up the street.. I pulled off and openend the hood checked the tv cable it was o.k I checked the fluid and it smelled like fresh trans fluid even a nice color also.. Then I get back out on the street and it's shifting.. So I made it back shifting.. Now that it is on the stands and checking over the fluid and tv again and making adjustments there is no change.. Oh Dave about the T56.. That could be a considerable option.. Considering It would take me longer to get this car converted If I had to buy a Brand new t56.. Then I have to seriously consider can I shift a t56 with my back condition.. So im going to be checking over the trans some.. And taking the time to consider wth am I going to do with this car.. I may have to loose some extra performance parts I dont have on the car yet..

Why dont you spend a couple of bucks and find out whats wrong with the Tranny before you start planning on a swap.
You know you have "Back" problems that dont get better with age. And throwing money at a problem seldom solves it.
Ask somebody that knows about 700R4's and get some advice. Just my .02 .

See that's the thing.. With a transmission in most cases.. You can't spend a few bucks and find out what's wrong.. If I get a price of 1,600 to fix it.. And don't have that kind of money to spend on the car again.. I get my transmission back in a box.. Tow my car back home and it sit's like it always does..
But you are right.. It is the thing to do.. Im just not prepared for the outcome..
What I can do is check out a few things myself.. And if nothing pans out the car is going to be sitting for awhile.. I just don't see spending more money on a car that hardly goes anywhere..
The Automatic for this car has been a drag.. You spend the money on the trans cooler.. You spend money on all this braided line and it's still needs more parts.. You spend money to service it more than usual.. It just seems you can spend spend spend with an auto.. However I do understand if I put in a t56 with a nice clutch it's going to be very hard for me to push the clutch all the time.. I just don't know.. Swaps are a pain at times.. But I do need to consider down the road I would like for this car to be better dependable even if it's not used much at all..

Just so many things in thought..It was a Joke Branden ....The Managments solution to a problem is to get rid of it. They seldom try to figure out how things got that way to start with.
As for your Tranny, any good shop will road test it and give you their opinion. Get enough opinions and you get a good idea whats wrong. Then you can decide what to do.
Just for the record, the Tranny in the Little Red Car is surviving daily stop and go on the 405. The only thing I have done is change the fluid on a regular basis. I'm not throwing money at it. No the car does not have your HP, but just the same, its taking a beating every day. Just my .02

I have a conpletely built 700r4 in a truck of mine that I leterally beat the livin crap out of daily and hauling big heavy loads. The truck puts down about 300hp and the weight is what causes heat and kills the trans far sooner than HP. Weight also puts much more wear on gears than HP does also.
Its all how the trans is built and how cool it runs. I should note that there is not one single stock part in either of my 700r4's. The one in the truck even has an aftermarket 5 planetary gear setup, 13 vane pump, billet servo, .521 boost valve, blueprinted thottlebody, and 10 clutches +much more latest and greatest goodies and tricks.

Car is shifting on Engine stands.. So that was great to hear.. Sure was loud as the mph hit 60..
I think my next step will still be checking the Gov.. I have a more modifed one that came with the trans.. Right now Im using my 3:27 vette gov.. So I'll just swap them out.. Then from there I'll keep running it on the stands chalk etc.. And Ivan is going to come help me out Monday with checking the pressure.. So soon things maybe will start looking good again.. This may be a weird small thing.. I thought it was messed up for good.. Gene had mentioned I have not even put down enough power to even hurt the trans.. He knows the transmission better than myself.. So the light is near.. Maybe I can keep on track and start the Fuel system.. Im behind still.. With the rate of Mods Allen has going on and everyone else so fast.. Alex is going to have a mean machine also when it is complete..
