Battery cable corrosion
About a year ago the positive cable at the battery (94 cchev van) started corroding.
I have completely cleaned it. Soaking the cable end in baking soda and water for hours and cleaned inside the threaded part of the battery and coated it once with grease and the other 6 times with permatex battery protector and sealer and every two months its corroded again.
The battery is a pretty new AC delco.
Any ideas?

Tom when the Little Red Car got hit last year, I only disconnected the Ground Cable the night it happened. When I went back to put a different battery in the car The positive cable fell off in my hands.Battery Acid leaking through the threads that apparently got somehow damaged ate the end of the bolt off in less than three days. Perhaps you have a leak somewhere in the area. On another Board I visit, I read quite a few posts about the "Brand New" "Delco" batteries leaking, factory installed and less than two years old. As yet the one in my SS has not leaked, but when I go to move it, I'm bringing a brand new "Costco" battery. Hard to beat the price and I have had one in my truck that pretty much sat out in front of the house for over four years with no trouble.

I dug out my battery receipt and the 7 year batt is 5 years old so guess its time to replace it. Oh, joy, there goes the skin on the knucles getting it out and in the corner of the van.
