The New KITT

This is probably not the right place to post this....

Did you guys and gals here that the new KITT for the movie will be a late model Mustang Cobra? It is a nice car but I was upset to hear that a Ford will be playing the role of KITT. What ever happened to having a nice F-Body as KITT. I am at work so I cannot post pictures but take my word for it.

Here is a picture of it. I can't believe that they used a Mustang for the new movie.

Re: The New KITT

If using the Mustang was the case, they should of just used BumbleBee from Transformers and painted him black. I bet the movie is going to fumble if they use the Mustang.

Re: The New KITT

That was my thought, they have like 10 or so of these camaro concepts built and fully operational, bump the sales, and then drop production of the car before or after the debut of the movie...At least you would be honest to the GM die hard KITT fans, even though they would use a camaro.

I mean c'mon it is basic knowledge, smokey and the bandit came out, Trans Am's sales went up 400%, fast and furious came out and after market supplier's shelves went empty that next morning...use the free advertising!!

Re: The New KITT

This just shows how shitty GMs marketing department is. First they have the interest in the Camaro driven up by the Transformers movie too far in advance of the cars production.(if it was in production when the movie hit they would have been guaranteed to be the highest selling car for that month with all the movie buzz) Then they let the new KITT be a Mustang. It just sounds like they have no business knowledge over at GM anymore.

I'm just glad they aren't using a third gen again. Now the Mustang people can have the Knight Rider plague...

Re: The New KITT

Face it, GM had nothing to offer exc the vette.

Besides, Mustangs are cheap, they can wreck dozens of them and not hurt the budget

I sorta like the Mustang, if it didnt have such a big butt and huge tail lights.

That, my friend, is subjective. The whole reason I got into third gens is because I grew up with Knight Rider--I even had the big wheel! I bought a beat up red 3.1 that I got painted black (my poor man's knight 2000). It was totaled in an accident and now I have a Maui Blue Formy 350 that's gonna stay Maui Blue.

I came to the thirdgen family because of KITT, and I've stayed because they're good, cheap, easy-to-work-on American muscle.

....and I'm kinda bummed that Mr. Pheeny isn't the voice of KITT anymore

Re: The New KITT

If it helps, I don't think as many people are going to see the new Knight rider movie as saw the transformers movie.

Also the transformers is going to have more sequels, so people won't easily forget the concept Camaro.

I don't think GM is that dumb.
