low fuel pressure need help
so i install my bbk afpr and are excited to bump up my fuel pressure. unfortunately fuel pressure is way low, the adjustment is turned all the way and the most i have is roughly 36psi. if i only turn the key and let it prime i only get 25psi, weird thing is fuel pressure jumps between maybe 30-38psi and when i give it some gas pressure drops,
could be i be correct in suspecting the fuel pump, i do have a hard time starting the car when its cold, and the fuel pressure is low, i doubt my gauge is off, any other means of testing for a bad pump, i would hate it if its the pump, but i'd could care less as long as it gets fixed

Re: low fuel pressure need help
Before you do the fuel pump which is a pita, replace your fuel filter. It is found on the back side inner fender well on the left rear side of the car. If it is plugging up, it will reduce your fuel pressure.

nooooo... not the fuel pump, the filter has been replaced its practically brand new, at that same time i also added some fuel stabilizer and fuel injector cleaner, what i don't understand is why if i get 25psi with the key on, how in the world does the car start, i thought u needed 40+ for the car to start.

Re: low fuel pressure need help
i will take everything apart friday and give it another try, and get back to everyone saturday, if it works i'l take part of the big bear cruise and if it doesn't work i'l still go to the cruise as long as the car is driveable,
i wonder if the fuel lines could be rusted, looking at them from underneath they look in bad shape, is it possible for a fuel line to rust and create a blockage of some sorts, i wold hate to go junk yard hunting for those fuel line but i might not have a choice

Re: low fuel pressure need help
Usually the fuel tank would get crusty inside before the fuel lines. Did you check your fuel pressure before you put the Adj Fuel Press regulator on?
