Cali 3rd gen fest equivalent???

Do any of you guys think there should be a 3rd gen fest equivalent in the Cali area? Or know if there already is one?

I know there are a LOT of enthusiasts in the southwest, especially Cali. Lots in Arizona and Nevada too but New Mexico... not so much. Shouldnt there be a place for us to meet up there?

I live in NM. The real 3rd gen fest is in IL. 20hr drive for me. But if there was one in Cali, thats just an 11hr drive! Plus I'm sure its a pain for anyone from Cali to go to IL. if anyone from Cali goes at all. But I'm sure its fun!

So what do you think? Or like I said, if there is something like it, let me know. I'd love to go check it out!

I went to check out the annual Ford show at Knott’s Berry Farm yesterday as I do every year (I live down the street) and for the first time I gave having a large local GM pony car show some serious thought… The upcoming LA Invasion is about as close as we get right now but there’s always room for another well organized show.

Something of that magnitude would be beyond awesome. What type of planning/effort/funding would that require?

A lot. I know POCI has a club insurance policy that covers chapter events also, but they have over 10K members paying $35/year dues.

That would be awesome! Believe me, I'm really trying to get some 3rd genners to rally together here in NM but Im having very little luck finding any. But ya I would love to get down there and check it out! Hopefully I can get my car running before then! I really think its awesome that people are getting together to do this kind of thing!

Re: Cali 3rd gen fest equivalent???

Well I checked it out on mapquest. Its a 12 hr drive to Georgetown and an 11 hr drive to LA. So either way Im stuck going on a pretty long trip. But since there actually is a 3rd gen gathering in TX, Id be going there! So now I gotta see if I can get my car ready before then. I was planning on finishing it by the end of this summer so that would be pushing it. If not, I will definately make it out next year!
