SC3G Private Time Attack Session Friday August 26, 2011 6-10PM
Location:
Adams Motorsport Park
5292 24th Street
Riverside, CA 9250
Website
Time: 6:00PM – 10:00PM
Cost: $75 per car
We have reserved the road course at Adams Motorsports Park for the evening of Friday August 26th, 2011 from 6-10PM for our SC3G 3rd gen exclusive Time Attack event.
Time Attack is you and your 3rd gen versus the clock. Regardless of whether it is your daily driver or a dedicated track car, this Time Attack event will allow you push yourself and your 3rd gen around AMP’s fast and technical track while a stopwatch measures your every run.
Here is your opportunity to come out and test yourself against some of SC3G’s best drivers and fastest cars in a safe and controlled environment. This Time Attack session is not a driver’s only event; passengers are not only allowed but encouraged. Riding shotgun can be every bit as exhilarating as driving at an event like this.
In the interest of maximizing each participant’s experience, we will be limiting the field to 20 cars. However, we are wide open on drivers and passengers provided everyone attends the driver/passenger orientation at the beginning of the event.
The first 10 drivers that are paid in full will receive a complimentary guest wristband. This wristband will allow said guest to be a passenger in a vehicle on the track and/or access to the hot pit area. If your guest would like to drive, there will be a $75 charge for the appropriate driver’s wristband. If you come to the event and would like access to the hot pit area and/or would like to be a passenger in a vehicle that is already on the track, there will be a $10 charge for the appropriate hot pit area/passenger wristband. Spectators are welcome to view the event from the designated area free of charge.
Participant slots are being offered on a first come first serve basis. Participants that pay in full are guaranteed placement on the grid for this event. Those potential participants placing a deposit only, will have a slot reserved for them, however participants that are paid in full have priority placement which means you could potentially get bumped out of the event if we have 20 participants that are paid in full. This is the only scenario in which 100% of your $40 deposit will be refunded to you.
The cost for each vehicle is $75 of which a cash payment can be made at our club meeting Sunday August 7th as well as a minimum nonrefundable* cash deposit of $40 for those participants unable to make the entire $75 commitment that day. For members paying in full, a maximum refund of $35 will be returned to you provided I am notified of your intent to cancel no later than 6PM Monday August 22, 2011. Any cancellation received after 6PM Monday August 22, 2011 will result in a forfeit of your $35 refund.

Mike, does the helmet have to be a specific type? I have a street bike full face Shoei and a moto cross helmet as well, will either work?

They say SNELL certified M95 or SA95 or newer and free of damage but I have yet to have anyone check the certification on mine or anyone's helmets since I've been going there.

On a small track like this lots of power is not always a good thing. Lower power and light weight do wonders.

Re: SC3G Private Time Attack Session Friday August 26, 2011 6-10PM
Ok gentlemen, we are 7 days out from this event!
Here is a cheat sheet for the tech inspection your vehicles will need to pass before being allowed on the track:
Please take some time this weekend to inspect your cars with this list to verify that everything is in good form. Showing up at the track with any of the afore mentioned issues could result in your vehicle not being allowed on the track.
We still have 10 vehicle slots available for this event. Once again, here are the particulars:
The first 10 drivers that are paid in full will receive a complimentary guest wristband. This wristband will allow said guest to be a passenger in a vehicle on the track and/or access to the hot pit area. After the 10th driver, the cost is $75 per driver and vehicle. If you bring a guest and your guest would like to drive, there will be a $75 charge for the appropriate driver’s wristband. If you come to the event and would like access to the hot pit area and/or would like to be a passenger in a vehicle that is already on the track, there will be a $10 charge for the appropriate hot pit area/passenger wristband. Spectators are welcome to view the event from the designated area free of charge. Please see the original post in this thread for information on how to sign up for this event.
All payments for this event need to be in my hand no later than Monday August 22, 2011 @ 6PM.
As always if you have any additional questions or if there is any additional information I might be able to provide you with please do not hesitate to contact me.
Here is a cheat sheet for the tech inspection your vehicles will need to pass before being allowed on the track:
- Brake Lights - Brake lights function properly (at least two red functioning brake lights)
- Seats/Seat Belts – Seats and seat belts properly mounted and secure.
- Brakes - No rotor/pad cracks, firm pedal, brake & clutch fluid levels are sufficient, no leaks.
- Battery - Battery properly secured w/positive terminal covered no leaks.
- Engine compartment - free of loose items (air filter, hoses, wires, etc)
- Fluids – No leaks, all hoses secure and pliable, all levels filled properly.
- Wheels – Not bent, no cracks, all wheel studs intact and torqued to manufacturer’s specs, hubcaps removed.
- Tires - Road-worthy, no exposed cords, cracks in sidewalls.
- Helmets - Helmets w/functional chin straps for everyone in the vehicle
- Interior - No loose items in passenger compartment or trunk, no floor mat on driver’s side.

Re: SC3G Private Time Attack Session Friday August 26, 2011 6-10PM
Just wanted to once again thank Mike for putting this all together. I'd also like to thank everyone that attended, without a good group of thirdgen guys that actually like to run their cars this would not have been possible.
This was hands down the best group event I have ever attended, and for the money, cannot be beat. I was especially stoked to run a new best time of 45.38.
My wife got some in car footage which is a little jumpy because the camera is hard to hold on to when you are in a stock seat and seat belt. She also got a few short clips of me hitting some corners. The in car footage laps I was experimenting with staying in second gear for the shorter straight aways but I think that ended up being slower.
Anyway, here they are:

http://youtu.be/KMme9-cuXk0
Can't wait to see the pictures everyone took!

This was my first event and I didn't know anyone, I was the only one on the bleachers, felt like such a loaner ... the cars made up for it though, , BTW. That two tone red and silver T/A is freaking. Sexy. And I also liked how they performed, oh and the black ttop. Bird too

What an event it was out at Adams
I was really surprise to see what my car did out in the track and to my surprise it did pretty well for my first time.. Well also me since I was driving
It was really nice meeting everyone at Adams I got to met some new members and familiar members
Hopefully next time if this event happens later on in the future again I will see how my new mods have an effect and see if I can go faster on the time I got but within reason (not trying to kill myself lol)
Thanks Mike for your hard work and for setting up an awesome event
Had a blast out there

Sorry for not posting sooner, but I left for Vegas immediately after Time Attack and just got home a little while ago…
Just wanted to thank everyone that participated in this event. Evenrything ran incredably smooth and without incident. I’ll watch the video a little later today and see if I can throw a highlight reel together for those that couldn’t make it.
Very much looking forward to seeing Steve’s pics!
