Getting ready for the 3rd gen Shoot-Out?

Checking out this ghost town and wondering who's getting ready for the 3rd Gen Shoot-Out. Lines were REALLY long this past Thursday, was only able to get 2 runs(arrived around 6:30). Hopefully the weather is cooler!!!

You need a 1/4 mile track for that car. 1/8 mile for me just isnt worth it. But if you all enjoy it then that's cool.

There aren't any 1/4 mile tracks anywhere close.

I really wish we had a 1/4 mile to see what it would AT and trap. At Fontana I picked up 26mph on the back half.

1/8th mile is still fun. Have to work with what we have.

BTW, anyone run a driveshaft safety loop that will clear 3.5 inch driveshaft? Techs were getting on my case about not having one.

yes, but mine is connected to the TQ arm mount. I'll try to snap some pics and send to your brother.

Ya that's true no tracks. Bakersfield,Vegas? That's real far an would need a lot of planning.
Driveshaft loop that reminds me I need to install one also.
A 7.4 that's pretty quick, honestly Im hoping to be around there also but not any faster. And would require a pretty nice stall convertor. Good luck out there this Thursday have fun an enjoy.

Appreciate it. Are you running any of your cars?

I wonder how the nitto event will affect the lines to race.

7.4 is not bad but I think I shifted early into your 2nd at least I didn't hit the rev limiter. Your buddy Vince was there too but he didn't post up any times with his new setup.

I won't be running the Iroc since I haven't hooked up the Wideband. Was a tad on the lean side and unsure on what my AFR is at the moment.

Lines and this heat will be a pain. They said the magic "free" word.

Should be running my trailblazer SS. Added a small converter and 4L80E.
Last run prior to whipple install(expecting low 6xxrwhp).

Well better not to hit the limiter an shift like that to have an almost clean run. Your doing dam good.

Vincent didnt post up ah no, sounds like he has some tweaking to do?
Well I put on my new Iac for the Roc an everything is fine now the car is screaming, to bad it's getting pulled an I didnt get to run it any further. So everybody watch out the Roc will be rolling, but only one time out to Irwindale when Im ready.

I saw an article where the swapped in a converter on a bolt-on TBSS and it made a HUGE improvement!

For some reason he "called me out" to run a few days before the track but didn't say anything when I saw him at the track

Oh well, he can race my timeslip if he wants.

On a side note, my bro just told me the white LS1 Iroc put down some impresive numbers at the dyno today. It should run 7.5-7.6's if the rear end holds a good launch

Oh why wouldnt he just wait to do it at the track that night. I dont have a clue what he is running slip wise but Allen is in the lead in So Ca..I think that's a focus. And I believe it's possible to achieve. I dont know what all he has in that Dart block? I guess I should spend some time on the threads he says he has an find out.

Those are two very nice cars. My I need a paint job. It's been a long time since mine has seen the street, really looks good in the night time. 3rdgen's just hold that look an it never goes away..
