Questions on springs, shocks & struts, rims and tire size?
I have Eibach pro-kit springs and KYB shocks and struts, now the ? is I have the 18x8 Iroc rims and I was wondering with these tire sizes in the front, will they rub with the car being lowered about a inch from the springs installed.
245 or 255/40-18 in front or 245 or 255/45-18 in front.
I just need to know which tire would give me a better ride without rubbing the inside of the tire well when turning.

Getting this question answered...
1. What kind of offset do the 18x8 wheels have ?
2. Tire Rack has a pretty good web site describing the
"installed diameter" of various tires on various rims.

Sooo...
a Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position
in a 255/40YR18 size installed on a 9" rim will yield a 26.1 inch
diameter. At least according to Tire Rack...
The industry rule of thumb is that for every 1/2" change in rim width, the tire's section width will correspondingly change by approximately 2/10". (from the Tire Rack Site)
Sooo....
On a 8 inch rim your installed diameter might be
26.5 or so inches.....
Whether this will clear is largely dependent on the offset
of the rim ...

Are you sure you've got 18" rims there? I never heard of 18x8 IROCs... I have heard of 16x8... My tire plan for the summer is 235/55/16 in the front and 255/50/16 in the rear. I hear 245/45/16 fits in the front, but I'm hedging my bets with the 235's.
yes, they are chrome 18x8 iroc rims, the guy at NTB said that the max I would be able to go is the 255/40-18. As of right now i have 255/50-16 all around and they're just fine.

I had 245/50/ZR16 on 4thGen "salad shooters" on the front, and they rubbed at full lock. When I get around to buying new tires for the 16's, I am probably going to go with 245/45 or a little lower, to try to get rid of the rubbing. But, that will be after all the rest of the work is done. 'Till then, i am riding on stock Chevy 14" rims..... *sigh*...
