Quick question: Coil spring isolators

Has anyone replaced theirs with Energy Suspension units? They have updated their website and offer more styles now. I was gonna use stock replacements, but now I dunno.

If anyone has used the ES ones, are they the same for front and rear and what's the correct part number?

Thanks all....

Now back to your regularly sheduled programming...

No, front and rears are completely different.

Fronts are just a thick flat ring.

Rears are molded to a metal cup.

ES makes isolators for our cars? No kidding! I thought they left our cars out of that product. Anyone got part#'s?

Damn!!! It figures that there would be some kind of difference. Guess I'll just go with stock rubber replacements on the rear then.

Thanks RBob.

TomP, check the ES website. It's been updated. I have my fronts out which is why I was asking if they were the same. I haven't dropped the rear out yet so I have no idea what they look like. The closest match to the fronts is part number Style A, P/N 3.1116. It's 5 13/16" wide with a 4 1/4" ID to fit inside the coil. The lip height of the ID section is 9/16" to hold it inside the coil. Looks like it should be a real good fit...for the front. No idea for the rears. i was just gonna order 4 and see what that got me. I could always put the others on my RS. No other parts look like they'll fit. These are the only ones over 5" wide.

While I'm thinking of it, I might as well replace the engine mounts while the A-arms are off. Do I have to do any rivet grinding or are they bolted on? Any hints?

I'll do a search on this too.

EDIT: Correct P/N is 9.6108.

Just called Jegs AND Summit to order them....they never heard of them and they aren't on their computers. The Jegs guy actually told me to leave them out since the car will be lowered. Summit told me to call back B/T 9 and 5 and let their purchasing dept handle the order...guess they have to call ES and get the low down.

Update tomorrow.

Not to sound dumb, but what are coil spring isolators. Are they the things that the top of the springs have between them and the body?

First off, I goofed!!

I messed up....the part number is 9.6108G for black ones. The part number I posted was for the motor mounts....can't read my own damn handwriting. Here's the link:

Anyhoo, I got them ordered but they'll take 2 weeks to get. I guess they just started making the things. These also differ a little from stock in that they have a "lip" that sits down into the coil, keeping it from moving around. That's the first thing I noticed when I pulled my stock ones out, they don't (can't) sit right on top of the coil. There's just nothing to keep them there. They were $14 for the pair, cheaper than stock replacements which are about $9 each, at least that's the quote I got. These are the only ones that will work for our cars, they don't make any for the rears.....they do for damn Stangs though..

Update: I cancelled my order for the ES front isolators. They kept pushing back the ship date, finally to the middle of August, so I said the hell with it and just got the GM ones.
