I've been looking around for new brake pads for my car. I've found quite a few diffrent raybesto pads.. brutestop, superstops, quietstops, pg plus.. rivited and chemically bonded.
What do you guys have on your cars ?
What do you guys like better ?
Anyone know which ones preform better ?
Are rivited pad's nessicary ? i heard somewhere that raybesto chemiacally bonded pads are good up to 4000 lbs of pressure. How much pressure do our cars make ?

I just installed EBC Greenstuff pads (www.tirerack.com) with my 1LE upgrade and love them. I used to run them on my Ninja and have only good things to say about them. DO a search for "brake pads" and you'll get a ton of info.

I am sorry but I have to disagree with MD. DO NOT just buy whatever they have. You want a quality part when it comes to your brakes. I run the Raybestos semi-metallic pads and have been very happy with them. They do not dust up your wheels and I have never heard a squeak out of them. For a quick comparison, open a box of the auto parts store cheap pads and then oen up some high quality ones, look in the box and you will see black dust all inside the box of the cheap ones. When you see that, imagine al of it on your wheels because that is what will happen. Also, whenever you do a brake job, do it right! Get your rotors and drums turned, bleed your system, inspect all your hoses and seals for cracks or leakage and replace if needed.
A cheap brake job is just that... a cheap brake job. The next time you need to stop really quick because of some idiot that pulled out in front of you or you need stop to take a 2nd look at that hot girl walking out to her corvette, you will be thankful you had them!

yeah your right, let me explain myself though, i goto the local auto store and ask for brake pads, i buy the most welknown quality kind with the highest price usually.
brakes are one of the most important things for a car, and you want the best quality ones at a good price, that last the longest and perform great their whole wear life.

Ive got a Baer Kit which came with Perf Friction Metallic Z rated pads.These are fantastic for fast road use and repeated heavy stopping but I found them not quite so good for general around town driving.
Ive now fitted EBC Greenstuff and these are great for all round driving especially when cold,but not quite so good for track days or for repeated heavy braking.
Ive got both sets and just swop them depending on what im doing.
They are both superb in there own ways

I'm using PF carbon metallic's right now, they work great when hot, hardly at all when cold. I think they're great for around town use where they stay hot. My trouble is I drive freeways and may not hit the brakes for 25 miles, so I've learned to keep some distance and drag them for a couple seconds to warm them up if I see I'll have to hit 'em hard. Sometimes on the freeway I'll have to hit 'em fast when cold and there's not much braking for a second or so, then it's like you threw out the anchor's. I may have other problems but I'm used to it now. I think I'll go back to Raybestos next time.

summit sells a set of VGX pads, supposedly made by brembo. They are bonded and have a slot in them, they also have a complete hardware kit that includes the sleeves and o rings as well as lube. Great fror 35$. They seem to work well but i haven't abused them yet. i need to rework my rear calipers first.
for street go with bendix fleet pads.
raybestos quiet stops don't stop.
rayebstos brute stops stop fine, but dust bad and are noisy.
GM pads are good too.
PF pads don't stop when cold or hot. I sold mine off real cheap.
hawk blacks will destoy every thing from rust, and are not streetable.
