Two quick sway bar questions
Two simple questions about installing sway bars.
First, should the front brackets be a perfect "U" shape, or slightly curved towards the front of the car?
Second, when installing new end links with polyurethane bushings, how much torque? Correct me if I'm wrong, but polyurethane bushings don't compress like rubber bushings.

The brackets should be pretty much U shaped, does the U bolt fit into the top part of the bracket? If so I guess put the slightly curved part toward the front. As for the torque it's not much. About 15 lbs. Mine came with nylock nuts, so I just tighened them down snug then about another turn or so. Remember when your're doing the endlinks. Make sure the suspension is loaded when tighening. This is very important.

U-shaped. 13 ft-lbs (18 N-m). Since you have to replace one, this is something to consider...

Tighten the end links down until the bushing is almost flush with the side of the washer. I don't kow how much torque this will equal, though. Just don't tighten them down to where the bushing is squishing out the sides.

My guess would be premature failure of the bushings from undue stress placed on them by excessive compression...My best Haynes manual explaination.
