Short answer: No and No.

Long answer: It won't fit, not unless you change the K-member, strut towers and front frame rails.
It isn't worth the time, even if it could fit. The 4th Gen suspension was designed to make the ride softer when the car is fitted with wide, low profile tires. On thirdgens with 245's the ride gets pretty harsh, and it can be brutal with 275s. The 4thgens have a better ride than the thirdgens, but the front end feels floaty and disconnected, especially the v-6 models.
If you decide to start upgrading your cornering capabilities, the ThirdGen suspension has a much higher potential than the 4th gen.

If you want something different, look in to the coil-over setups from PA Racing and Roadtech.

I agree 100%. Third gens trounce the fourth gens at most road racing events, even with lower hp motors.

I've looked into it too. K-member don't even swap. Absolutely nothing similar about the front clips.

The 3rd gen stuff has more potential anyway...though a rack and pinion would be nice!

You can use the rack and pinion from it with a K member from PA and have them put the 4th gen mounts on it.

Cool, that's nice to know! Thanks. I knew they were offering ones with a rack mount, but didn't know that rack was available as an option.

They dont offer it as a "kit" basically they told me they have done it before and it can be done, they will provide a K member with mounts for the 4th gen rack, it will bolt in, also have their bump steer kit, then customer will have to fabricate the steering shaft.

Wow, do you guys really think the 3rd gen front suspension has more potential than the 4th gen? By no means am I doubting this, I'm just surprised. I've always just figured the 4th gen front end to be just superior because it is a SLA (short long arm) setup. One of you mentioned the front end on a 4th gen being floaty and disconnected. Couldn't this be corrected by just a simple shock and spring change? I don't have any back to back track time experience with a 3rd to 4th gen, but I've driven a friend's 2000 Firehawk on the street with a Koni coil-over kit front and back, and the car feels great. I think the steering on a 4th gen is way more tight and responsive, probably because of the rack & pinion.

Setup with good aftermarket parts, the 3rd gen still has a slight advantage IMHO. I do like the rack on the 4th gens, but thats to me the only real advantage they have (other than springs that are a lot easier/safer to change). SCCA guys prefer 3rd gens.

I can't name them off hand but I have read in several mags that there is a flaw in the fourth gen front suspension. I think it is in the lower arm geometry but im not sure. This is why the thirdgens out handle them
