Part numbers?????

I know Monroe GP are discontinued. I am having problems w/ the shocks leaking and the struts do not retract the correct way anymore. I called up Monroe and they are asking for the part numbers.By any chance does anyone know or who can help me get the part numbers. I have a 1988 Firebird Formula. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the boards newbie.

Are you wanting to replace the Monroes? And if so, why? Why wouldn't you upgrade to a better shock / strut combo for the same money? If you're looking for a budget replacement setup, go with KYBs and get them at www.tirerack.com.

You'll be happy with them.

I'm not looking to get them. I already have them in my car for a bunch of years. Since they are discontinued and I am having problems w/ them both shocks and struts like I stated before. I want to see what Monroe is going to do for me since they have a lifetime warranty on those products. I should get someting even though they are disontinued.

I sell monroe, and the number is stamped right on the strut/shock.
Do you have the original invoice? Most lifetime warranties are limited-lifetime,which means it warranties the original purchaser.
And without the invoice they don't have to warranty it.
Its how the lifetime warranty game is played.

I do understand that. No I don't have the invoice and I am the original owner. The c/s ask about the invoice and I told her I did not have it. She told me to get the part number and they would retro it.
