They go onto the top of the coil to reduce road noise and what not. I took mines out of my car though. One reason to lower the car allitle bit more (yes I know its only like 1/4" or less but hey its still something) and another reason was to get rid of any play in the suspension. (metal to metal sounds better then metal to soft rubber to metal)

That's just it...your local parts store won't have them. That's not a regular replacement item. The dealer will have them in rubber, but maybe not in stock. I had to order mine and it took 2 days to get 'em.

I waited 10 weeks to get the front ones from ES and finally gave up 'cause they kept pushing the ship date back. They may have them now tho. They're cheap, less than $5 each.

Whoa! ES has the front ones too?!? Do you have a part # for those? Thanks!

Here's the link to the ES coil spring isolator page. It's been too long since I measured mine, but they're one of the style "A" ones.

Let us know if you are able to get them or not.

HTH...

Hey, Drop,

I'm interested in the correct size as well. Should you find the correct sizes/part numbers, please post.

Here is a pic of my old front isolator. Judging by what the tape measure shows, you would need part #9.6108 or 9.6120. The old one is about 1/4" thick.

I think. HTH

I checked Summit for ES spring isolators, and while the 9.6108 number came up, the application guide doesn't list Camaros.

James,

I don't think that ES lists specific applications for these, as they are considered 'universal' applications. The numbers that Ed gave sound like they are about the right size, although it is hard to measure from an old isolator as these tend to distort badly (especially the rears) once they begin to wear.

The application guide did provide a fairly healthy list of cars for the part number, but as I say, the Camaro was not listed. If need be, I can go stock--or order stock, measure them, and reorder.

If you'd like my opinion, I'd get the stock rubber pieces and be done with it. It's not like these pieces do a lot of work. Plus, they're only $5 each for the fronts.

See my post on rear isolators coming in a few minutes.
