Post your 60' times and your suspension mods...
alright guys, since the winter is coming for us
, my cousin is looking to buy some stuff to make his 60' times even better. here is a summary of what he does now:
13.75--1/4
103mph
2.08 60'
he has a stock suspension, just some decent driving.
so, we wanted to see what suspension mods are the best "Bang for the Buck and what kind of 60' times your puttin down.
thanks everyone

120K on stock suspension check out mods.
well rear lower control arms would help, and aftermarket torque arm would help also.. an airbag on the right inside the passengers rear spring..
i had nice stickey tires, and the lakewood rear control arms and i put down a 1.91 60 foot in my stock 1988 formula 350...

thanks for the replies guys.
heres what i was thinking for suspension to the Z......Lakewood 50/50 shocks out back, and maybe some 70/30 struts up front. couple that with a 2500-3000 stall converter, i would think that it should put him in the high 1.8s or low 1.9s. Maybe add a set of Summit Traction bars (like $50
)---if they are any good, and a set of Spoon control arms/brackets......that should be in the 1.8s for sure........saving him about .7 in the 1/4!
what ya think of these parts or this setup?

Well you've seen what stock/worn out, slighty modded suspensions can do, so by adding all the goodies you have in mind, I would'nt be happy with anything slower than a 1.85

Spohn LCAs and adj PHB, stock springs, KYB shocks, SFCs and BFG 255/50/16 drag radials got me a best of 1.769 with a 2k stall and a L98. Add Eibach Pros to the above list and my best 60ft to date only dropped off to a 1.800. Im almost interested in swapping in Eibach drag springs, removing the sway bar and seeing what that gets me but for now Ill deal with what I got...
Stock suspension except for poly bushings in the LCA's. I do have a BMR panhard rod but that doesn't do anything for straight line traction. Best of a 1.75 60' on Nitto Drags 275/40. As Nick stated before....all it takes is some sticky tires if the Track is hooking.

BEFORE any suspension mods with only Eibach sportlines and Kumho street tires, lots of spin, cracked carb base and cracked rocker trunion(found out after the pass),I could only best a 2.01 60' and 13.9@103.
Now with the addition of a 3500 stall instead of the old 2500,all the suspension mods in my sig and a new carb base and rocker(which made a HUGE difference on the street),and a set of borrowed Nitto 555r drag radials,my times should be MUCH better.Hopefully able to make some more passes in a couple weeks to compare.

on stock suspension(92 Z28) with boxed and bushed LCA with LCA lowering brackets I run low 1.7's on motor(best1.69) and low1.6's on N20(best 1.58). I have 27x11.5 hoosier quicktime pros and the front swaybar off. ( have just bought some 28x11.5 ET streets.)
