Is it feasable to replace part of a brake line

I was under the car re-installing the tranny, and I noticed that my brake line to the rear of the car is crushed by the tranny crossmember like it got stuck between the fram and crossmemer at some point. Well, I was wondering if I could just use those little pressure fittings or whatever they are called and put a new little piece of line in there, or if I am going to need to replace it clear from the pv to the rear end?

Thanks

Ben

Yes.
The pipe will need flaring though. There are tools available that will flare steel pipes in situ.

or you could use a compression union and not need flares. i'd just replace the whole line, leave the old line where it is and run a new piece.
