Searched threads but no definate answer about SFC install.
I just received my Hotchkis SFC's today and want to install them before I put the carpet back in.
Only thing is, there is no engine, tranny, or exhaust on the car and I read a thread mentioning about have the suspension loaded before doing the SFC install.
So, I need to have some definate answers soon,
Do I need the engine and tranny in the car?
Where should I put the jackstands underneath so we can work under the car to weld them on?
Are the Hotchkis SFC's decent qualtity?
Anything else I should know or look out for when installing these?
Thanks guys

I have always heard that the chassi needs to be fully loaded to install the SFC. As for placing the jackstands,I always put them out as close to the wheels as I can to load the chassi as it sits on the ground. Under the A-arms and axle tubes as close to the wheel as you can get. Make sure the car is sitting level. I have done a few sets like this and never had any trouble.

Ok.
This is going to take some thought since the motor isn't done yet and I don't have a tranny. I was hoping to install the subframes so I can put the carpet in and put the interior back together.

The SFC's support the midsection of the car so if the doors line up then that would be the position where you want the supports to be welded for added strength.

You sound like where I am. Engine in living room and tranny in bedroom. Have my car up and levelled and doors and hatch work perfect... going to go ahead and weld mine in. waiting to get my rear end built to do it all at once... I think your safe.

Put them in. Don't worry about it.
The factory didn't wait until the engine was in the chassis, to build the chassis, did they? You don't have to either. That's a bucnh of non-participant drivel from somebody that's never built a car.
