hub design

Can somebody post a picture of the hub that Baer uses in its track kit. Dimensions would be a big plus.

the track and sport are identical....will push your wheels out .4mm

go 2 piece and it keeps the stock dimensions.....plus reduces weight dramatically. highly recommend it if you can afford it as they not only work but look bad-***.

Does anybody have a picture of the hub, I knew that baer uses the same hub on the two 1 piece rotor kits but what does baer use on the higher end kits? What material are the hubs made from? .4mm is only .015 inches which could be just tolerance difference in the machining process. I am building my own bbk for the front of the car, the rear brakes arre complete 13" twin piston.

well the "higher" end kits or the optioned w piece like you call it uses an aluminum hat that basically bolts onto the rotor. as far as dimensions they keep the same only they don't extend like the single piece.

here is a single piece.

here is a picture comparing the two........?

why are you asking the dimensions of the hat itself? i could see wanting to know the thickness....but, i'm not sure i understand the need for otherwise?

I am really not interested in the hat just the hub. In your track kit what did baer supply for the hub, is it a steel hub? If it is steel is it just a stock rotor/hub with the rotor cut off.

i don't think were understanding each other.....

you get what you see in the picture above with the deciding rotors along with the 2 piston pbr caliper, bracket, and modified spindel. the single piece is a thinner rotor with a thicker "hub" and the 2 piece is a thicker rotor with a separate aluminum "hub" or "hat" as they refer to it that is bolted onto the rotor.

why is it you need dimensions of the "hub" itself?

good luck with it.

OK I all I want to see is the "hub" the part that holds the front wheel bearings. I thought that the track kit uses the 13" vette 1 pc rotor and baer supplies a seperate hub to put the rotor on. I have attached a picture I found in a old post to show the hub and the dimensions I am after. What material is the hub made from?

Do you have any pics or dimensions on the wilwoods? I had originally thought of using them but I couldn't find any info on them. I don't want to order new wheels or run spacers.

I havent had a chance to get any further information from them, since this upgrade is a ways off for me, but got bored and did some research heres what i came up with:

Thank you for choosing Wilwood Disc Brakes. the numbers you asking for are
270-7309 $119.92 .Please feel free to call 805-388-1188 if you need further
assistance.

www.precisionbrakes.com has some good prices on wilwood stuff, and other rotors.

I am building my own bbk with porsche big red calipers. I have the calipers and rotors. I need to find a hub to use or cut the rotor off of the stock setup and this would become my hub. I would rather find aftermarket one since using the stock one cut down will widen the track by a .25 on each side. What material are the baer ones made out of? I need this much brake to go with my rears which are the corvette 13" fronts (baer track fronts)

what corvette had 13"

i know i've got the 12" in the rear....it's almost 13" is that what your talking about. like the zr1?

as far as the material, it's suppose to be billet aluminum like the hat. as far as the single piece i believe it's the same type of mild steel they use in stock applications.

check with them to be sure.

how large are you going up front?

93 and up vette had the 13" as an option and the zr1, grandsport and collector edition had them standard. They are the same thing as the track kit. I am going with 13" x 1.25" rotors. That wilwood part number is not in the 2002 catalog so maybe it is a new part sounds like it has promise.
