Lift Bars- just as good as LCA's and reloc. brackets??

Ok, after looking at variuos lift bars, I have come to the conclusion that they will do the same thing as a relocation and an aftermarket LCA combined, by the look of it anyway. They cost 200 bucks, or about the same as the other route, but there is no welding, and you can simply remove them and put them on another car if you want.

Are there any other positive/negative things I am overlooking? Will they work just as good as LCA's and reloc. brackets? Or Better?

It's time for me to get a set of LCA's for th 84, so I'd like to know.

I personally wouldnt go with lift bars. Wasnt there a guy on this board who had one break? Thats for one reason why i wouldnt get something like that. But then people have different experiences with different suspension parts. I like the weld in (spohns) relocation brackets cause the quality (grade 8) and cuz of that i have one less thing to worry about. There are bolt in relocation brackets like the BMR but they dont specify whats its made of so if plan on huge launches its something i wouldnt trust. Weld ins with these BMR xtremes

well...

They did break, but there are different companies that make several lift bars, not just one. If you want to weld in the relocation brackets every time you get a thirdgen, go for it, when I sell mine, I'm pulling every aftermarket suspension part off for my next car! Lift bars are a 45 min install or less, not hours!

I made a thread on the Lakewood ones awhile ago. Apparently Lakewood was going to re-design them because they weren't planting the car properly. Lemme search for my old thread.

I have the south side machine lift bars

they launch awesomel....although they do make for a pretty rough ride on the street.....also, the fact that they weld in isnt exactly the best. But they perform excellent at the track.

However, I just ordered a new moser 12 bolt...and the 12 bolt axle tubes are larger in diameter than the 10 bolt ones....so i have 2 options.

i can either cut the flanges off the lift bars, and fab up some flanges with the right size cut-outs for the axle tubes....or i can make a totally new flange mount so i can bolt them on instead of welding them to the rear end.

basically what this kit does is turn your rear suspension into a pseudo- 4 link

That's a bit much for me...

Dang...those SSM deals are beastly...I bet they hook-up! I think I'd go with the lakewoods but iroc22 says they are being re-designed= not good.

I guess I am better off with Lakewood LCA's and the BMR bolt on Relocation brackets. All in favor?

ya the ssm deal is pretty radical....if your not a decent fabricator and dont really need that kind of traction then your probably better off with some bolt on type stuff anyways.
