1LE swaybar

I just installed a 1LE swaybar in the front of my 85 trans am. But now when cornering hard especially at higher speeds i have really bad understeer. What can i do to help this out a little? If i put a bigger one in the back would that make much of a difference?

you should match them together.

i believe the correct factory pairing would be 36mm front and 24mm rear..

good luck.

Big on the front = Understeer
Big on the back = Oversteer
Matched = Neutral

I've got a 24 on back, and a 34 on front. Both with urathane bushings. The car handles great in the dry with race tires on, and I'm able to throw the rear out at will. For me and my driving style it's a great combination in the dry, but sucks big time in the wet.

I've picked up a 36 front, and will be putting it on saturday before our season opening event. I'll let you know after sunday if it made a difference. It looks like rain here, so this will be a good test to see if the bigger front bar makes any difference in the wet.

i would run the 24mm, and if that puts you into more oversteer than you like, run the 23mm off an IROC.

My 85 IROC had the solid 34/24 combo before I swapped out the 34 for the hollow 36.
