Wonderbar

I was wondering if anyone has installed one and noticed a difference in the steering/handling of the car. I've already done every other handling upgrade inc. the largest sway bar I could find and a strut tower brace. Thanks!

I put one on, but I also put new poly endlinks on the sway bar at the same time. I noticed a difference, but I am not sure if it was from the wonderbar or the new endlinks or both.

This is the stock one I bought.

I have a new BMR one that I traded my GM one for since the BMR won't fit on an 82.

I don't know if you'd notice that great of an increase in handling but it'll help support the steering box. If you can find one fairly cheap you migth as well throw it on. It'll do more good than harm to say the least

Do a search. This is one of the most frequently mentioned topics on this board, behind "lowering" and SFCs".

Here's a post on the subject from a day or 2 ago.

There's another one about 3 posts down from where your was when you posted it, about "subframe repair", that has more similar info in it.

This is the single best tool available on this site.

Top Down Solutions (TDS) has them right now for $37.00+ S/H either in red or raw steel powder coat. A great price compared to everyone else. I'm waiting for mine to be delivered and I'll be able to give you an answer to that question.........

I installed it without doing any other mods. What I noticed was a bit less noise from body flex going in and out of my driveway. I didn't notice anything in the handling department.

I noticed a tad less understeer, a little less noise, and a whole lot of peace of mind that I wasn't going to tear up the sheet metal taking turns at 75 mph.

I went ahead and ordered the one from TDS. Its cheap enough that even if I don't notice a difference its worth the piece of mind. Thanks for your help.

I just reinstalled my wonderbar on my '91 RS and while I was at it I installed a Jamex STB that I had lying around.....HOLY CRAP what a difference. My driveway comes off the street at an angle and the car has MUCH less squeaks now when I pull in. I still need SFCs on this car but after having the wonderbar off for a while, the difference was night and day.

Yeah, I noticed a big difference too. It handles a lot better... though my uneven brake grab is more noticeable now oh well gives me a reason to put on new Earl lines.

Remove the strut bar and see if how it feels.

It's a LOT stiffer than it was with just the wonderbar installed. I think I'll keep the STB...
