shakes bad at 90mph
hey guys i raced my freind tonight and i was doin liek 90 and my car started to shake real bad, i thought i blew my trans up so i threw it into neutral but it still shook and then i reved it a little and nuthin happened so i knwo its not my drivetrain. it has to be something with the suspension or the tires. now if i had out of balance tired woudl it create a shake at 90 or woudl i feel it all the time cause its usually completly fine. thanks guys

If the tires were out of balance, or the rim bent it would depend on your speed. If it was just a little out of balance, then at most speeds you wouldn't feel it, but the faster went, the stronger the vibration.
It could be a bunch of things. I'm not expert so I'll say no more.

You may have just lost a balance weight off a wheel. Usually you can tell if it's the front or the back if your steering wheel shakes a lot or not. Or could be something more serious like worn out susp bushings, bent rim, tire separation, driveshaft out of balance, bent axle etc. I'd check the tires and wheel balance first.

My car does the same exact thing... my problem is a bent front rim. Right about the same speed 90mph it starts to shake.. under that there is no problems, and the car drives in a straight line. So until i find another 16" 91-92 rim i have to deal with it.

Same as Mark. I had a bad shimmy on my RS and installed a 4th gen alum shaft and the problem disappeared.
I luckily got mine for $70 shipped and installed new U-joints. Install was 10 minutes. I'd balance the wheels and then try the shaft swap.
