Install tips for the edelbrock 3 point tpi stb?
The directions are not really good, they say simply put it together; but when to use the silver washers or gold washers?
any helpful tips when installing this stb?
thanks for any help. i ran some searched but i usually just find pics.
also i think i may need to move the cruise control around it kinda gets in the way.
i took some pics of it sitting on the strut towers.

just assemble the whole thing and put it in place, then mark the holes w/ somthing start w/ a small pilot drill hole and gradually make them bigger. yeh the instructions EDELCOCK has w/ the STB is a joke. good thing its not way too complicated. check out my readers ride if you wana see a pic of my stb.
when / where do i use the silver washers? i am thinking to mount the main brackets to the strut tower two to each bolt?
does it look like the cruise control is going to be in the way?
i know to assembly it and then mark the oles but how can i have the rear parts assembled and mark holes with the screws in the way?
i dont want to mess this up, might just buy the kenny brown one instead.

It doesn't really matter which washer you use and where. Infact, I threw out all those old bolts and washers and got some stainless steel bolts/washers. I set the main body of the STB BEFORE the actual black strut mount and then made sure the 2 connecting bars fit at my firewall.
The little metal plate goes ontop of the firewall lip, and the stb bars under it. Once I had everything sitting there I just punched the holes, drilled... and started each bolt before tightening down.
Pretty simple. You don't have to measure, just put it there, drill and go.
The Kenny Brown brace you have to drill holes also.

If you can get 6 bolt holes for it, without having to move your strut mounts... then Bolt it down and GO!
basically what they said, it's not an exact thing, just get it set good and drill the holes, everything will tighten up when you bolt it down. and if you miss a little bit with a hole, you just enlarge it a little.
but....
make sure you get a GOOD drill bit before you start....it took me like 3 hours and i burned out a drill in the process

3 hours?! Mine took about a minute a hole!
I recommend taking your hood off to drill the firewall lip holes. Made life alot easier.
