Adjustable Lower Control Arms and Panhard Rod

How the heck does one know when the rear end is "truly" centered side to side and fore/aft. Are the adjustable LCA's just for thrust line centering and do you just drop your car on the ground and adjust the panhard bar to fit after the LCA's are in? Where does one measure to center the rear, what alignment angles are relevant, and would'nt moving the rear against the spring pockets create preload on the rear?

For the panhard bar, measure from a point of the bumper to the ground on each side. Adjust untill the measurements are equal on both sides. Not sure about the LCA's.
