anybody else's bilsteins look kinda beat up when you got them? i wonder if its maybe just from the shipping from Germany...

the bilstein sticker is kinda rubbed off on one and thne yellow paint is kinda "used" looking on them both.
I guess they look alright, just curious if any one else's were kinda beat lookin.

thanks
matt

mine were new...boxes weren't too hot though. i guess it would depend on where the paint wear was. might compain to your distributor though.

ok, anybody remember if it looked like there were once washers in the area of the bolt holes on the front struts? almost as if they were installed at some point. bilstein seems to have a great warranty on their products. maybe im just worrying too much.
nope, not shox.com. www.performancecenter.com or something like that. it was a good deal at the time, the price may have gone up . not sure.

thanks for the help with this guys.

you shouldn't have to question it.....

a little wear is one thing, but if you are unsure send them back. they are too expensive to be taken lightly. however, who knows when you'll get another set as they tend to be hard to get ahold of at times.

the tops look great. they are very firm, i can compress them if i really really press down on them. i think they just took a beating during shipping.

the more i look at them, the more i think im just being too ****. lol

kandied, thats the problem. i really want them in by the 29th and i couldnt get a new set by then

The tops are pretty soft metal. If they were installed, then taken off, it should be noticable there.

here are some pictures of them. what do you guys think? sorry to keep dragging this post out.

My Bilstein Shocks/Struts

notice the beat up/missing paint and worn sticker and in the second to last pic, the ring around the bolt holes that to me indicates that there were washers there and they were repainted.
thanks for the help/input. the guy i got them from said i could send them back and hed send me new ones if thats what i wanted but that it would be 2-3 weeks before he gets them to me.

Thank you!

Mine looked brand new. When I installed them and tightened the bolts, the yellow paint flaked off right where it is in your pic 101-0177_IMG.JPG. From those pics they looked used.

Bilsteins are commonly rebuilt. We send all of our racing shocks to have them rebuilt.

Maybe you got a set of rebuild's rather than new ones?
