Questions on Spare Tire
Questions on Spare Tire
I have just made my 91 TA into my daily driver. Question is what size rim/tire should I get as a full size spare for the car ? It has the 16 inch wheels with the 245/50R16 tires but I was told the rims are different for front and back. Is there a size rim and tire I can get that could possibly work on all 4 wheels if I get a flat. I have a long drive (50 miles one way) and don't want to rely on the little donut spare they give you in case of emergency.
Thanks

if you get the correct backspacing for the front, it will bolt onto both the front and rear (the rear will stick out a little, but beats a donut
the rear wheel however will not fit on the front.

the rear wheel however will not fit on the front.

You could also get a used 14 inch wheel from an s10 and put a 195/75R14 on it. That will be really close to the same height and take up less room. Should be able to pick up a wheel and tire from a junkyard cheap. Also, it will fit on the front and the back. The lug nuts on your wheels will work without a problem on the steel wheels.
