if ur car is an 89 or newer u can put in an 89 and newer rear with out touching the proportioning valve. if u get a rear with disc brakes from an 88 or older (i wouldnt suggest because the disc brakes on the raer of those suckk compared to the pbrs on the 89 and newer) ull need a master cylinder and prop valve from the car the rear came from. dont forget the 4th gen rear is almost 4" wider then the 3rd gen.
89 and up came with rear disc? I know about the "1le" package but not anything else. is my best bet to go with a third gen posi disc rear?? Are they readilly avalible? and if i do go with a thirdgen rear every thing will bolt right up and i wont need any spacers for my 15" rs rims so the dont stickk out??? Or am i better of with the 4th gen posi/disc rear? if i do the 4th gen do i have to change the booster and master cylinder?

I have a 89 camaro its soon to have a 3.8t. I want to upgrade to posi and rear disk [with] the e-brake built in.
Here it is:

You can get the brake system from these guys, $200 used:

Now to answer your list of questions:
1. Some '89 and up cars came with rear disc but they are getting hard to come by, especially with the better ratios: 3.23, 3.42.
2. I recommend the 4th gen rear for the brakes you want.
3. Those rears are found many places. Look on www.camaroz28.com, it's more tailored for the 4th gen guys.
4. No you won't need spacers and it will bolt right in. I THINK the bigger rear brakes will clear your 15" wheels but I don't know. I'd move up to 16"s or 17"s. You will have a little e-brake work to do to get the cables to fit, especially with the LS1 rears. It's been done so search a little.
5. If your car is a '89 and up, you will not need to change the master cylinder. You MAY need to change the prop valve if you have rear drums stock.
Anything else?
