Personally I would just box the stock track support...
Even then I don't think it's a hugely critical component like the track/panhard bar.

i e-mailed the seller to see if it would fit a 3rd gen, if not maybe this place could make some.
update:
the seller said, he doesnt think it will fit a thirdgen, and i responded is there any way to make one for a thirdgen, and he responded we will look into that.

I have been curious about when someone was going to make something like this, I was asking one of the guys from slotcar racing if they had anything in the works like this, they dont at this time but said if there was enough interest in these that he would consider making them. There is definitely something wrong with this set up in question, First of all, where is the exhaust on this car?
Second, the angle is different than the thirdgen has to clear exhaust.

Here is how ours looks! What would be great is if someone made one that ran almost parallel with the lower one closer to the center of the rear and then angle upward to give enough clearance to run big true duals through that area.

I have no clue about that bar. That is a 4th gen btw.
My friend just installed a similiar exhaust on his car with the stock bar in place, so I know it can be done.
He did dual 3" with an X-Pipe, over the axles, into two small mufflers.

just to throw this in the air , why wouldn't that ebay bar fit ???
the axles are the same and the frame rails should be in the same place as well , maybe a few bolt holes will have to be elongated etc... but there's not that much differnt stuff back there on 4th gens , I'll compare my 85 and my dads 95 firebirds this weekend to see but IMHO it should fit
only place where it might hit is the exhaust but 4th gens have the pipes routed exactly the same as us so even there I doubt it would be an issue.

The upper Panhard Rod they have is just a boxed stock one. i like the look of the tubular one i posted at first....... and they want $225 for it. I could have mine boxed for quite a bit less.

don't buy it box it yourself. just take it to a welder and he will have no problem doing it for a lot less then 225. Or try and get someone to make them tubed if they did make them i would buy one for mine. I have nothing else to replace or make better back there except for the upper bar.
