How to install e-brake lever seal?
I put rebuilt rear calipers on my '86, but I didn't pay enough attention when taking the old ones off. From the shop manual I can see that the assembly order is:
caliper <- plastic washer <- rubber seal <- e-brake lever
But I can't tell which way the rubber seal goes (metal part toward caliper or e-brake lever?). It looks like the direction matters, and I don't want to have it leak or screw up the seal.
Help a loser out...many thanks!

Welcome to our group.
On my car I don't pay attention to how the rubber seal is oriented. If I remember correctly, mine is more like a metal washer with rubber surrounding both sides. I'm sure over the years I have put it on both ways but never noticed any ill effects.
If I had to choose, I would probably go with rubber towards the caliper and metal side towards the brake lever.

Thanks!
OK. That way kinda makes the most sense (since the plastic washer should protect the rubber part from being worn away). Appreciate the reply.
