Replacing Upper Strut Mounts

Is this procedure ok to replace the upper strut mounts?

To replace Upper
-Jack wheel just off the ground with a floor jack under front lower control arm.
-Remove Strut to Upper Mount Cover and Nut.
-Remove Upper Strut Mount to Wheel house tower nuts.
-Replace Upper Strut mount and tighten upper mount to wheel house tower nuts to 20 ft-lbs.
-Tighten Strut to Upper Mount nut to 50 ft-lbs.
-Get car realigned

Edit:
Also Does anyone know the manufacturer of the Upper Strut Mount Package sold at Spohn's site?

That will not work.

Step 1 should be:

Jack wheel just off the ground with a floor jack under front lower control arm.

If you do it as you posted, the remaining force of the spring with the strut fully extended will still be trying to push the top of the strut the rest of the way out of the mount.

Moog makes those strut mounts, should be DIRECT replacement for 87-92.

yeah i was thinking about when i was doing springs, struts and i had everything apart.

stands under the a-arms with the rims off would be the better way.

Thanks, I added "Jack wheel just off the ground with a floor jack under front lower control arm." to step 1.

Moog makes those strut mounts, should be DIRECT replacement for 87-92.
Its an '87 Firebird so there should be no problem with the alignment of the Strut-Mount-to-Wheel-House-Tower nuts as stated in the other threads, correct?

is it possible to change only upper strut bearings? One would not have to change entire upper strut mounts. Anohow, do you know? I have all the machinery in the world to do that so proper tools are not issue. only thing might be that if the strut mount damages when the bearing is removed
