93 T/A rear

Someone local to me is selling the rear from a 93 T/A its posi with brakes (not sure of gear ratio i'm hoping 3.23). Anyway if I do swap that in I assume I would have to upgrade my front brakes as well, correct? This is probably a dumb question but I really don't know anything about brake systems :lala:

you don't have to do anything to the front brakes

93 is the funky year for the rear ends since the 6 speed cars got either the 2.73 or 3.23 geared rears.
Auto has the same ratios too I believe.
94+, all the 6 speed cars came with 3.42 geared rears.

Is there an easy way to tell? (Keep in mind I know nothing) And what is a good price for a full rear assuming its in good shape? He wants $350 obo...I haven't had time to check out and junk yards yet...

Good price for a complete disc rear end is $200-450, depending on the rear gears and brakes, LS1 rear & brakes are desireable.

I guess the easiest way is to put a mark on the axle flange and turn the pinion around x amount of times till the mark on the flange returns to the start position. A little more than 3 rotations of the pinion will be 3.23 and a little less will be 2.73.
We did this test on a 4.10 rear I have sitting around and the pinion turned 4 times to the 1 rotation of the axle flange.

I lucked out.

I paid $400 for a complete 95Z rear with posi and 3.23 gears, and a 99 T/A alum. driveshaft. Look around locally and try to avoid getting it shipped.
Good luck, Efrain.
