Just as the topic says. I have a 9 bolt and want the PBR disc brakes instead of the Delco ones I have. I need of course the mounting brackets for the calipers. I heard these are hard to find. I noticed Resource has brackets but they look to be 10 bolt. Is anyone fabing these? Could I convince someone to make me a pair?

Are you referring to the bracket the caliper actually sits in or the backing plate that the bracket and caliper bolt too? The caliper brackets(cradles) are still available from GM(mine cost $75 for the pair). I have two spare sets,one new and one used. I also have a set of backing plates with dust shields in tact for a 9 bolt but I plan on holding on to them. The cradles are interchangeable from 9 and 10 bolt rears.

No I was refering to the brackets that need to be bolted to the axle to attach the PBR setup.

Oh by the way can new PBR calipers and rotors be obtained from GMpartsdirect does anyone have the part numbers for these I would prefer new ones as opposed to used ones.

Just so that you can weigh all your options, note the following CarQuest prices:

Rotors: BDR 55022 $54 per (in my little burg anyway).
Remfg Calipers: Cal 18-4346 and 18-4345 $82 per
Loaded: Cal 16-4346 and 16-4345 $99 per

There are probably cheaper prices out there, if you do some digging.

I mention the above only because I think you'll be shocked/horrified at the prices without a core--at least I was. CarQuest's price was $176 per for the unloaded. That being so, GM may take your first born! GMpartsdirect has wonderful prices, but if you've purchased from them before, you know that shipping and handling can be outrageous. Anyway, food for thought.

I have a pair of nine-bolt disc backing plates, but I haven't decided what to do with them (I'm doing PBR brakes on a ten-bolt and I've already purchased the ten-bolt backing plates, so in reality I really don't need them).

As for PBR calipers,I wound up paying right at $200 for my pair of loaded calipers from Advance Auto and that's with cores I found through the classifieds page here. Unfortunately they don't come with the brackets and springs for the park brake cables.

$13.91 for a rotor now that's what I like to see. at that price I'll pick up fronts so I can have hubs made for the C5 upgrade.

I just bought two rear rotors from rock. Good price but the shipping was as much as the rotors. Good website though very comprehensive.

I'm thinking I will just get the calipers from Third Gen Resource and clean them up. I will call them in the morning but until then does anyone know if these come with the carrier and pins ?

As far as the backing plates go, if you find yourself in a pinch, you can modify the ten bolt pbr plates to work on your nine bolt. All it requires is routering out the holes a bit to line up with the nine bolt axle flange holes. We did this on my buddy's iroc. He had a grenaded ten bolt with the pbr brakes and a good nine bolt disc rear that was missing the backing plates. He was too broke to afford to buy the correct backing plates, so we modified the ten bolt ones and it worked out just fine.

Good to know I was wondering if that might work. Rock Auto called this morning. It happens that they are out of stock and don't have any of those $13 rotors for me but were happy to sell me the $40 ones that they did have. And didn't know when they would be getting any of them in. To good to be true? Looks that way.
