let us unite for hand brake recall action-please read

For all of us trying to get GM to fix our seat belt and hand brake problems that they promised in their Campaigns---if we unite, and email lots of Media, and D.O.T.(N.H.t.s.a.--formal complaint) we might get someone out there who has some clout and go to bat for us.
It is easy, just email them, that is all I did. Just to give you an example, in one hour I emailed the following
FOX NEWS
Shephard Smith
Linda Vester
Bill O'Reilly
Greta V.S
(and more)

ABC
Good Morning America-Charles Gibson, Dianne Sawyer
20/20
primetime

also posted official complaint with the National Highway Traffic and Safety Admin.(it takes a while to fill out form, but will be worth it if they help us...the more the better)

Good Luck to us all
Dennis

I had my parking brake handle replaced while under factory warranty this was no joke at the time. My car rolled out into the street one evening while I was at a Laundromat doing laundry in Texas. Anyone who never had these recalls preformed need to look into this. Lets also not forget the gas tank Campaign

If you have an "Automatic" car they simply will not do it.I have already gone down this road with "GM" more times than I care to remember. The last time I was told in so many words to fix it myself if I wanted it done. This was on my 86 Trans Am.Now on the other hand they did the recall three times on my 84 Z-28.... so go figure. And of course the TA has had Brake problems the whole time I have owned it.
The Z-28's Brakes always worked just fine.

I beleive in the recall it states the hand brake recall is only for manual cars with rear disc breaks. kick me if i'm wrong but I thought I remember reading that.

I'm in on this class action since I'm having problems getting my faulty seat belt retractors replaced.

Thats correct. If you read my post thats exactly the point I was trying to make. I tried everything. I actually had the service adviser at the dealer that did the brake recall the last time, offer me the old parts from my 84 at no charge. He said the recall had been accomplished, but not properly and everything could be used over again, it just had to be installed properly. I took the two unopened kits and went on my way. I guess he must have gotten tired of seeing me.

are you telling me that you all leave your manual in nuetral and pull up the parking brake? why not just leave it in 1st or 2nd gear and be done with it and forget about the parking break. besides you should only use the parking break if your parked on a hill. but that is just my opinion

No, you should use the parking brake every time you park the car.

if you have a standard always use the parking brake and always throw in into either 1st or reverse

That would be a great big negative on warping the rotors... Btw, I do not live in a cold climate.

It doesn't warp the rotors. Applying the parking brake routinely is necessary to safely park the car, and to operate the self adjustment mechanism in the rear calipers.

haha...I have never heard anyone say that before. That using your parking brake would warp your rotors haha. Now in my situations when I use it the rotors would warp. Considering I'm still moving at 40+mph. But for parking the car it wouldn't warp the rotors at all.
