i want 255's instead of 245's

i have a 91 z28 convertible 305 with the stock 16 inch rims with 245/50/16 and was thinking about putting on 255's will they fit right without rubbing and what size 255's (255/XX/16) would i have to get to keep the same height?

The 255/50/16 will rub very little but only when you
turn full lock.I have 255/50/16 on my 92 Z28.They will
fit in the rear fine.I'd say go for it.

yep...

255's in the back look good.

Front: leave the 245's. It'll look meaner, a bulge in the front looks kinda dopey IMO.

Too keep the same height I believe you would need 255/45/16.

That is about as close as you will get. A 245/50/16 tire is 25.64" tall and a 255/45/16 tire is 25.035" tall. To go only a little bigger than stock you would need a 255/50/16 tire which would put you at 26" tall.

255/50/16 is the right choice. I think you are very limited on choices in 255/45/16, if at all.

I just got new tires on the rear, 255/50R16s, they fit/work great, don't think I'd ever put them on the front.

I have 255/50/16 kuhmo ecsta 712's all around. My rub pretty bad at full lock. I think my main problem is that my car was originally made with 15'' wheels. I hear the bump stops are different on mine than 16'' wheel cars.

I would stay 245/50/16...they look better. Mine have alittle more sidewall than I would like.

I may get some 245/45/16s once the car is lowered.

245/45's would be low and wouldn't fit the rim well. At least that's what they were like on one of my cars.

Really?

They would be alittle lower profile than a 245/50 but I didn't think there would be any problems with them fitting.

I have 245-45-16 Pirelli P-Zero at the front
And 255-50-16 Eldorado HPZ-760 at the back.
Looks and fits great, no rubbing at all!
