My wife's 89 Formula, which has been in the family since it was purchased new, finally had a flat tire while she and other gal were on the road. Being a Posi rearend, it has the collapsible spare tire with the Inflater Cartridge.

While there was no shortage of chivalrous gentlemen to help them get it changed, and get back on the road (it's a sharp car and they are not exactly ugly), I need to get the CO2 cartridge refilled. What is the proper pressure to recharge this thing to????

I have the same type tire in my 89 camaro and according to my GM service manual and owners manual. You should go to a dealership or fire extinguisher service center for a refill. It does not give a pressure to charge them too.

 

way to get CO2 is to get it from a Paintball store (they sell it by the ounce). However, the local store does not have the proper fittings to get the job done.

If you need to get an adapter for servicing it, the part number is J26696-A. You might be able to get one either from the chevy or pontiac dealership, or try any GM dealership.
